Ador sued NewJeans in court to see if the exclusive contract can actually be terminated in this way so we will have the answer soon regarding the future New jeans in this agency. If they want to leave Ador fine do it the right way. Take them to court for the contract to be dissolved especially as they say they have concrete proof of mistreatment. The whole industry plus the business industry would be in trouble if everyone could just unilaterally dissolve their contract. Who is going to invest in an entertainment company and their artists if this became the norm. It would be too much a risk. Without investment where does the money come to train the new artists. The court case will eventually be heard but it may be many months away. No one is suing anyone just yet. NewJeans will continue attending schedules and performing as required and despite their claim that they have left Ador, they will be paid as usual for these by Ador as per their contract. All expenses will be paid for and they will continue to live in their penthouse apartment only a handful of idols live in. Once the schedules pre booked finish it gets really interesting. Will they quit their apartment and go back to live with their parents? Play computer games and watch TV? They wont have any events to attend and it seems like they refuse to go into work at the office either. I doubt that with all the current uncertainties about their future Ador will be able to secure any more work for them to fulfil. So what will that force Ador to do at that point? January will get very interesting as the court case to resolve round 1 of this mess is probably months away still.

You can't consider yourself divorced without both parties agreeing to the said divorce and divorce papers being signed in. Similarly, you can't terminate your contract without signing any papers that confirms contract has been terminated (with termination fees imposed) and ador accepting it. However, ador says the contract is intact and has recently filed to confirm the validity of the contract. Considering yourself "not Newjeans" and lying about "alleged" mistreatment (without having the guts to submit evidence of it in court with termination papers) doesn't mean you're NOT working for ador. These girls are simply destroying their career over a rich daepyeonim who is being officially investigated for corporate crimes right now.

They expect the charming prince SM Ent. to arrive in January and take them not to a luxury apartment, but to a castle, to live like divas all over the world and earn 50 million dollars a year. But I really think that SM has fooled them: SM's goal was only to destroy a competing girl group that had wiped out all the other Korean girl groups. And it succeeded. There is no ongoing lawsuit between Ador and the NJs, so talking about sanctions is completely out of place. Only if and when one of the two parties sues the other, which neither party currently intends to do, will sanctions be applied. And not on the basis of vague legal opinions from lawyers MOST PROBABLY already paid under the table or looking for notoriety. My take? If you clear out all of the speculation in the room, we really do not know yet. The full story from all of the participants has not been collated, and quite frankly is not complete. There are a lot of commentators that sound like they know everything, but it's a bunch of cobbled together partial facts and misinformation that just muddies the water. We are going to have to wait and see. Again my take? Hybe wants to "stick it" to NJ as a group, and individually as kpop artists. Seems to be very vindictive company.

Oh that is realised from what they said, it just does not abide by the law. They have no right to say when they are finishing as their contract goes to 2029. If they keep trying to destroy Hybe reputation with their disrespectful comments and stupidly naive press conferences I would not be surprised to see them charged with tampering and compensation payments awarded to Ador and Hybe that may double or triple their penalty fees for leaving their contract early if the court allows them to do so. Is someone paid these fines and penalties for them they would most likely be tied to a slave contract for years paying it all back.

at the end of the day, new jeans remains a rookie group that released only two mini albums and three singles. not much of a discography there yet to show any lasting artistry. nor do they have enough songs to have a full concert. their so-called "success" is not deep-rooted, and is based on short-term "trendiness." they do not even write, compose, or produce their own music; they rely on a creative team to dictate their music & choreography as puppet performers. the group is essentially a product of PR imaging, and paid media can only take them so far. the individual members are not yet even established as solo artists; without the new jeans name, they have nothing else.

I don’t know about Korean law but it’s only sensible that if a contract is signed between two parties, if one claims the other party violated it, they need to show proof.. and still if the other party does not just accept, both parties need to solve this in front of the law.. If someone wants to arbitrarily walk away from the contract, they’d need to pay the compensations unless they want to follow legal procedures. If NJ can walk away just like that I think the system is fucked up.
