Bro I had to give you this update So I had just bought the airtel 5g thing and believe me when I tell you it's literally bullocks.... When they said 10mbs they actually mean 1MB .... Believe me the speed test is rigged to calibrate in mbps.... I'm so disappointed and I wish I could get back my money.... I'm a person who loves downloading staff and I was excited...but im really disappointed Any way thanks for the work you out in

This feels like walking backwards to me. 5G is able to provide up to 700MBPS, and here we are being sold 10mbps. Ridiculous!! This same marketing model could have been achieved 10 years ago on 3G Devices smh! 😞

Where Airtel excels is it offers symmetrical speeds that's is same speeds for both downloads and uploads.

This package has a FUP, speeds dropping to 2mbps after the monthly cap runs out. Also, AIRTEL internet from my experience has been very unstable. (Intermittent) . I also saw MTN is going to roll out this same product. It’s already listed on thier website

Pay for airtel xtreme, same price but no data caps, am using it for 4 months now, no issues, i had to switch from mtn waka after they introduced the data caps and limited downloads to 5mbps.

This comment saved me a ton. I went and got the MTN 5G router (though a bit expensive because it started at 295,000/= 40 Mbps). The speed is mostly stable and it rarely caps during the weekend. The reason I held out for MTN yet Airtel had already released this like a month or two earlier is because of its customer care. MTN has very good customer care. I usually go to their twitter DM and they immediately respond, so much though that one time they sent some guys to the area to check why the data capped on weekends and as promised, they fixed it... I am so willing to pay for the premium price as long as the customer service cares. Unlike Airtel. Worst customer services, they do not care, take ages to respond, always automated responses... I do not care how cheap their router is, I will never buy it. Airtel has mixed to bad reviews but it's mostly because of poor customer care services... My burning question is, what would be the difference between 5G 20Mbps and 4G LTE 20Mbps. if I wanted to switch from my airtel xtream 4G to %G, would it be worth it?

I think the lattency would be the difference. However, for the case of switching from Xtream to the 5G modem, I think its better to stick to the Xtream (thats if its workig reliably well), coz 5G is a hit/miss in Uganda (Its unreliable in terms of coverage, but when U get the "sweet spot" for network coverage, its awesome).
