If the person throwing second doesn't hit a 9-darter, the person throwing first has 6 darts at 141 (if they hit two 180s in their first two visits). The only way to break the throw of a player that hits a 12-dart leg is to hit a 9-darter.

Just recently I’ve been watching more and more of darts from the likes of Eric, Jocky, Mr Lowe etc.. Personally, I like the ‘poorer’ standard. 12 darters don’t even get much acclaim nowadays, and the drama isn’t quite the same - for me. Everyone will have their golden era, and I still watch (and have been to a premier league night) modern era darts, but the standard, strangely, has dampened the drama. In my opinion. Still ❤️ the darts 🎯
