fun fact, Jan Hus and his follower Jerome of Prague were canonized by the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia and so are both Saint Martyrs in the Orthodox Church.

True and not true Hus was killed for “Orthodox Herasy” which creates a debate as he was killed for speaking Eastern Orthodox doctrine but however was maybe not a Orthodox himself He’s currently in state of limbo as most scholars cannot agree

The fact that the hussite religion exists in EU4, but the Romuva religion doesn't is really confusing considering how both faiths were targets of major crusades and how Romuva was much more prevalent than the Hussite faith. Also shame there isn't a Joan of arc event considering she threatened to lead an army in 1430 to Bohemia on a holy war

I agree about the romuva thing, but I believe there is an event related to Joan D'Arc.

The romuva were almost erradicated in 1444 and had a lot of sycretism with catholicism, the hussites would still exist for many more years and were prevalent until habsburg rule

Wow the sideways map of Europe really makes Italy's boot looks like it simply follows the curve of the rest of the land. As though the sea is like a giant sword cleaved through the land. While for some reason, in the normal map, it looked quite like it's sticking much more down down. Funny how the mind can distort images, despite looking right at them.

This video just gave me a really cool idea: Play as Bohemia, choose the Hussite option and then take over the empire and reform towards decentralization while forcing other European nations to join the HRE until all of the continent is subjugated by you, and then enact the inner peace reforms to disable internal HRE wars, thus creating the European union hundreds of years earlier than our timeline.

Best part about hussite is that you can rush religious ideas and get permamemnt CB with 25% less AE on everyone, combined with 10% warscore from aspects and 25% from reformation age it gets totaly bonkers.

Hussite is so good. Goods produced, improve relations, manpower and everything you need for a small cost of slightly bigger ai. Hussite is my goto religion in europe if i can get them. Also memes

Maybe they could add in the radical/moderate Hussite dichotomy. Something like: If your country is Hussite, and you get a new leader, s/he has to choose Taborite or Utraquist. Only Taborites have the higher missionary strength, they get extra church power and a CB against any neighboring catholic country, but they have much lower tolerance of heretics, and a serious malus on the attitude from catholic nations.

I love being Hussite in eu4, the only downside for me is inability to become a leader in League war. Therefore, to become a Hussite emperor in HRE, you have to enforce religious peace

Funny how you can find the same track at two different places at the same time. The same track running in the background here got also used in a mod for Skyrim i'm playing atm. But Kevin Macleods tracks are everywhere anyways.

I just found out a one thing. If you'll become Hussie as prussia you can get rid of all the army tradition decay. So, there is 5% army tradition decay and you can get -1% from prussian ideas, -1% from prussian missions, -1% from aristocratic ideas, -1% from having 100 innovativeness and -1% from being Hussite, so you will be left with no army tradition decay. I didn't check it, but I think it should work

Just a small correction. The hussite king is not George Podebrady, but rather George OF Podebrady. Podebrady being a city in Bohemia.

On one of my recent games the super Commonwealth(controlled all of normal Commonwealth land plus a bit more of Eastern Europe and a portion of Russia was Hussite and turned most of Eastern Europe Hussite

The hussite religion is still a thing in Czechia and has multiple churches around the country and historical parades in it's home Tábor In 1991 it was 178k 2001 it was 99k 2011 it was 39k 2021 it was 23k The massive decrease from 1991 to 2001 isn't just Hussite related, around 2 million people declared themselves "Non religious" resulting in 6 milion atheist citizens Also Czechia is the one of the most atheist country in the world, together with Sweden and Estonia (I don't count China because communism)
