Its a close second to Donkey Kong Country's "Aquatic Ambience".

As a young kid, I loved getting to the water level of Mario World 64 where this music played. It was so calming and soothing, and it felt like it was speaking to my inner loneliness directly. The music all of the sudden felt more important than the game itself, and it was like it was telling me not to worry or be so hard on myself. For some reason that music track would help my mind cope with the fact that i was escaping reality by playing a game.

I love your interpretation of this song! It is one of the most relaxing, beautiful video game tunes I know of. Aerith’s theme from Final Fantasy VII is up there as well for me, along with the Overworld theme. I LOVE the soundtrack for A Link to the Past on the SNES as well. There’s just so much great music in video games, but few are as catchy as those made in the mid to late 90’s in my opinion.
