The IV chord played minor instead that major is one of the most beautifull substitution, really romantic, a good example is in "more than words" by extreme.

I think it is. Since I heard it from you, it comes out of my guitar at warm up. It's also one of my new point, to startup some improvisation. And, Heatbreaking, is the word that a friend I jam with, used to describe it fisrt time I came up with it :) !

Based on major scale perspective, D is dominant of G in G major scale. So it will be work on Cm6/G Because G is dominant of C, in C major scale.

Nice transition! As others noted, Jimmy page comes to mind. I like the D pedal between the chords. Nice voice leading. I want to try throwing an F# in the bass and then to the G on the Gm6 chord. But I have a feeling it’s going to sound better with d in the bass. Hey! What about dropping the 6th string down to D and letting in drone? Now we are talking!!

I think you never heard songs like Mantus - Melancholia, Alice Cooper - Hell Is Living Without You, Emperor - Fine Day To Die, Nightcrawler - Blood Rage, Gorgoroth - Prayer, Gorgoroth - Funeral Procession, Burzum - Lost Wisdom, Pain - Shut Your Mouth, Riverline - Collateral, Hypocrisy - Living To Die... These chords literally take your heart out and tear it into pieces...
