Rex and Daniel landed at the Ghost Hill Ranch (home of Treaty Oak Distilling) with 1 objective that quickly fell apart. What was intended to be a case study on sourcing with grain to glass credentials, quickly turned a corner. After a few anecdotes, a hungover accident, and a macabre experiment - they realized that this could be one of the most innovative distilleries operating today. Tell us, what other innovations are in seeing in the world of whiskey making??? We'll see you in the comments, MB.

I live in Hawaii and have a hard time getting anything but big mainstream whiskies. I had a bottle of Ghost Hill shipped to me because of this video and I'm enjoying it very much. I loved this video and hope you to more like it with other Texas (or any) distilleries. Mahalo! 🥃🤙

Love the episode, I think next time I’m at the store I will definitely pick up a bottle. Love when you guys put a story behind the whiskey (specifically Texas whiskey) so it makes it easier to enjoy a drink when you can associate it to some cool people working hard making something you are paying this much money for.

I have two bottles the Ghost Hill Bourbon Single Barrels that were aged underground & open air. When it becomes plausible again, perhaps I should trek down to Austin and allow the mooch & somm to partake?

Love this episode, it really allows us into a much deeper look into a new distillery that is really trying out new things and will to push boundaries and sometimes fails but keep learning on the path. Great video of an even greater distillery ! Now, please deliver in Europe too, I would like to spend some money on you guys XD

I enjoyed visiting Treaty Oak Distilling in April 2019.... just after the craziest torrential down pour! So, I did NOT enjoy the dirt parking lot which had turned to mud. Its is an absolutely beautiful estate and the place was hopping with live music and a lot of people enjoying the Texas sun which drove the clouds away.

Outstanding job by everyone involved. I think this video proves how important whiskey science is for getting consumers talking about the whiskey that is evolving as young distilleries build themselves. Ultimately, this is about building a brand that can stand the test of time. But we all want the whiskeys to be judged too. Well done!

Barrel aged gin... I'm intrigued! The concept of production without following lifetimes of tradition, sounds great... Or maybe... There are reasons for at least some of those traditions in whiskey production, that have a direct effect on the outcome of the product! Whiskey schnapps! LOL

So I am a more recent fan. I was a big fan of Jameson as is. But since watching I decided to try and note what I am tasting. And have tried other whiskeys with a trend of knowing what I am tasting. I Long story short (too late) I am curious if you guys have tried my new favorite Irish whiskey, The Sexton single malts copper pot distilled. It was the first one where I actually could smell and taste the flavors without looking on line to see what was in the whiskey. Anyway, keep it up guys, love the show.

I was fortunate enough to visit Treaty Oak when I was in Texas last November doing my small Texas Whiskey trail. They have an amazing property, rustic decor and even a restaurant on site near the tasting room! Food and drink was top notch as you can imagine, and one of my favorite displays was a smelling station with different flowers, spices and citrus to compare to what you smelled in the whiskey! I do hope to visit again someday when I am less in a hurry so I can lounge around a bit more and take in the atmosphere once again.

Great video guys, really informative and interesting. My home town of Glenrothes has a new distillery called InchDairnie that only started in 2015, they've apparently changed the process of making the whisky while still keeping to the legal requirements to be considered scotch. Don't know if yous have heard about them yet but I'm really intrigued to find out how it turns out.
