What nice, DRY weather you had! Nice to see more of Dover than I did in 1991 when I was staying in Bexhill on Sea and took a train out to Dover. Didn't feel like walking around much, as it was cold, raining buckets, and was very windy. But I did walk out onto the pier and looked back at the white cliffs! I also had a delicious piece of cherry pie at a little place very close to the pier. Nice man who worked in there! Enjoyed watching you have an issue with your hoodie hood ..... it wanted to cozy up to you. ❤

We were lucky with a beautiful day, even if Josh (and his hood) struggled a little in the wind 😂

Dover isn't somewhere I would ever think to go, but watching this is deffo have a little drive out one day. It actually looks really nice and gives me holiday vibes! The park looks absolutely beautiful & I love the restaurant so much to look at. I'm far too lazy to do some of the hikes you guys do 😂 but there's lots of other things for me to do that don't get the me all breathless hot and sweaty 😂 xx

It’s definitely worth it. It’s the same as anywhere, has good and bad points but we love exploring it, such a fascinating area.

I am so glad that you visit these places where many of us either DON'T visit or just pass through. Once, years ago, waiting for the Hovercraft to France, I visited Dover Castle. Other than stopping to buy an ice cream,. that's all I have done in Dover itself. Also, watching you on the beach reminded me of the Victoria Wood Channel Swim sketch.

We enjoy a bit of variety, some well known popular places and some lesser known gems. There is good in every place if you look for it! Haha yeah that sketch is funny 🤣

Big thank you to you guys in showing a positive side to Dover, yes its steeped in history, fantastic heritage... May I suggest on your next visit...Head towards Aycliffe estate (if on foot) thus you'll end up at Samphire hoe, a man made nature reserve made from the spoil of the Channel Tunnel, next to it is a walking/cycling track towards Folkestone, a hidden gem from the tourist who tend to visit the East cliffs, its a beautiful quiet walk....❤

Glad you enjoyed it. We have been to Samphire Hoe many a time, love taking a walk along the sea wall 👍🏻

Great video guys! Agree Dover has lots to offer… just not the town centre! Dover castle is the best!

The town centre is improving, plus it’s worth a visit just for the museum!

Such a fun and interesting vlog J&J 👍🏻😁😉 made me laugh …. Next time Josh wears his stripey bandit top, see if you can get him to wear a mask over his eyes and get him to carry a bag over his shoulder marked with Swag on it - he really would look like a robber then😄😳 My only query and a one raised eyebrow look 🤔 was when you were in the Museum at the area with the WWII features …. On the wall is a (rather battered but no doubt important etc and I’m not dismissing it!) Union flag. I was thinking that the display is showing the Union flag “upside down”? 😳 Looking at the flag on the top left hand side, the bolder red stripe of the X bit, should be displayed at the “bottom” on the white X of the Scot’s flag, the Saltaire. 🇬🇧. It looked like it at was at the top? I did freeze frame it just to check if I was right but the image was a bit blurry so I could be wrong 🥺 I’m sure - because it is a museum - I am hoping that it would be the right way round though! The only reason I always “check” is because when I worked in retail - the same shop for 22 years - every Armistice week my shop, together with the British Legion, would always put on a thought provoking display of poppies etc in respect of the work done for war veterans by the BL. Every year and for about five years, a gentle but then again ‘fierce’ “grand old soldier” aged late 70s+ would be present in the store, sitting bolt upright on a wooden chair, wearing his Army Greatcoat and red beret, displaying all his military medals (he had been a para). He would tell customers and staff about his medals and his war memories. I could have listened to him for ages as he told his tales about the war; he didn’t display any bitterness - just sadness at the losing of some of his ‘boys’ - and as he said “those Germans were just boys like us really…” He considered it his job to ensure that any display memorabilia showing the Union Flag, that the flag was always the right way round! He said to me and others (many times, bless him ☺️) as he gave a proper salute “🫡I fought for my country so that flag *pointing to a display flag* could always be flown high, with pride and with grandeur, that Flag is what I saw when I first came back from the Front, it gave me the reason to be brave and to never be defeated …” and those words have stayed with me to this day - so *I* check to see if a Union flag is the right way round, in memory of him and the reasons why that it was so important to him. I can still picture him with a determined look on his face, as he made sure that all the little pin on Union flag badges, next to the little pin on poppies displayed on a velvet covered board, were always correct and there were lots of them to check! He really was a force to be reckoned with! I never knew him by name sadly - but he always recognised me and every other member of staff each year and gave us a cheeky or sweet sarcastic comment. then came the year he wasn’t present in my store 😪 Staff and customers always looked forward to seeing “our” old soldier friend each Armistice and him just not being there, on his upright wooden chair, hit us all hard. Whilst it was very sad at his passing, I do know that in the times he was in my shop, he revelled in all the attention - serious and humorous - he got. RIP Old Soldier….I’m still checking those flags for you 🇬🇧 Hope you don’t mind my long post - just felt I needed to explain my reasons! 😊 lotsof love xx

Of course we don’t mind the post, it’s a fascinating story and we love hearing about people’s unique experiences in life. Very observant to notice though. We will have to look back through all of our footage and see if we can verify for you!

We have arrived and left Dover port many times, coming to see my family in London and go back to NL but never stopped over or at Folkestone either so maybe we need a stayover to visit both places especially Folkestone

We love exploring both Dover and Folkestone. So much to see and do. In between the two you also have Samphire Hoe that was created using the rock dug out when creating the channel tunnel!
