@Yakushii Жыл бұрын
Same here. But I feel that counting 3/4 is so much more satisfying. Because by counting the beat slow, the upbeats seem more accented.
@seheyt Жыл бұрын
I hear it in 4/4 vs 12/8 depending on whether you like tuplets or not. Here's a side-by-side comparison of notation ms 15-17 - I think both my options are clearly clearer than the video notation i.imgur.com/7YIrBjG.png

hmm def not 6/8 there is quadruple subdivion throughout
@ZMaine Жыл бұрын
@@jsswift87 unless we see written sheet music from the composer, it's all up to our own interpretation. You can have subdivisions in compound meter just as easily as you can have many triplets in 4/4 (like the Shuffle style).

In the "Most satisfying chord progression" debate, I would want to add the "Chorus" in Jaco's "Three views of a secret", the F#m, G#m, Am, B7b9 etc. thing. The whole song, really. Just very modern, melodic, fantastic lines, and ear twisting ambiguity in the harmonic progression. And yeah, for this one video, nice variation on "James". Nice song.
@jdguitar1040 Жыл бұрын
Yup. James: 1:22 to 1:25 is where it's most overt to my ear (it's in the intro too). Same key as well. Not a slight on this piece, though. It's absolutely awesome and though there's basically that James quote in there, it's not at all derivative, imo. For me, it's got a kinda Blade Fellowship vibe goin' on; if Fellowship was smoothed out a bit ;)
