he's not the fastest runner or highest vertical jumper but he's so explosive, and he only needs crazy short time to accelerate from 0 to max while running or jumping, might be one of the best ever, god gifted physical explosiveness. In his prime at OKC his dunks are almost impossible to block cuz while the defenders were trying to jump he already bounced in the middle air and dunked the ball in the basket. I think that's also why ja morant tried to dunk on gobert several times but all failed but 34 years old lakers-Russ made it so easy and clean

Been saying this for the longest. I’ve been a fan of Westbrook since early OKC days and the only fair criticism of his game is that he makes bad decisions at times when crunch time is there because he’s trying too hard essentially. Literally every team he’s been on other than the lakers have nothing but good to speak of about Russ and every star (excluding lakers roster) that he’s played with has had their career best season playing with him and it’s following that trend with Jokic

@cycleoflife565 I watch the tape not the highlights If he had excellent anticipation he wouldn't miss so much. He gambles and sometimes he's right. But he's wrong a lot. He also gets a lot of, I call them lazy steals, where he gets beat because he doesn't want to fight over or slide (lazy defense) and then reaches in after out of desperation. But he generally does more harm than good. There's a reason all the smart people stopped looking at steals to determine the best defenders over a decade ago Also if you want to see great anticipation, hands and timing on defense watch Jokic

Great video! The Nuggets have clearly unlocked a new side of Westbrook’s game. This is my first time seeing him play off the ball and look this efficient. We all know that getting to the rim has never been an issue for him, and he’s always been a great passer, but I don’t think even Westbrook himself imagined he could thrive this much in this style of play. It makes him more dangerous than ever. And on top of it all, he’s still as explosive as ever. Incredible to watch!

Denver is the ultimate redemption arc destination for any player. If you want to show you still HAVE it, you go to Denver. You play with Jokic and you earn it. @rooky3526Ай бұрын
Part of the reason why he's such a good rim attacker is because teams don't respect his shots. They sag off of him on the 3 point line and that creates a lot of space to to build momentum on his drives. If they don't respect him at alm and leave him uncontested, he's more than willing to take wide open practice 3's and those are good looks. He takes just enough 3's that it really doesn't hurt the team as well.

He's not a spot up shooter that takes 6-9 attempts per game. He only takes 3's if the situation calls for it. Come on now, we're not talking about last season, we're talking about now.

Bruh he's at 54% TS with a 109 offensive rating. I don't think anyone is having trouble guarding him. The good teams still ignore him. He still turns the ball over a ton. He still freelances on defense and gambles and is lazy on closeouts and going over screens. But he's not actively part of the problem anymore. He's taking what the defense gives him.
