This is probably one of the best looking JMs I've ever seen. The covered bridge humbi and the neck P90 are my favorite aesthetic, and the color is so pretty.
@christopherlewis18472 жыл бұрын
While I like a nice, chocolatey finish, I like that orange one you showed. Agree with you about the bridge and knobs. I realize it's subjective, but a guitar of that price and quality should not have a pickguard. They put a lot of effort and time into a quality top and finish, then cover it up with plastic?
@noahbarnowl14702 жыл бұрын
I love when build quality and artistry of a guitar reminds me so much of the many fine cellos and violins I’ve had the privilege to hold and play. Also that finish is…chocolatey…
@TheGuitarGeek2 жыл бұрын
This finish really accentuates the body shape and for sure makes the design look balanced.

I use wish more companies would do this pickup layout! P90 in the neck & humbucker in the bridge is magic! Beautiful guitar!
@stephanematis2 жыл бұрын
I think you may have just missed them at a glance. Many have built this setup for years, example Yamaha Pacifica 611, G&L Fallout, Harley Benton HP42 (Signature model) , Reverend Double Agent, Friedman Vintage T, Gretsch G2215-P90 (recent, inexpensive, very nice!), various Dan Electro 59X/XT, Hagstrom Semi-Acoustic Alvar, some Dusenbergs, Godin at various times. Etc... Not to mention that humbucker sized P90s (P94 or something like that) are also seen in ESP LTD and many other guitars in the neck. And you can also do this kind of setup on a dual P90 guitar by putting a mini-humbucker or firebird style mini-HB into the bridge. Many options for the Niel Young style setup. Hope this helps in you search! I myself would have love a PJD for the workmanship alone.

Absolutely perfect. I think I would prefer chrome Tele style knobs for volume and tone but otherwise gorgeous.
@craigthomson36212 жыл бұрын
...and PJD do lefties in all models at no extra cost. You can also get Cream T pickups as an option (although the Bare Knuckles are great). I like the slightly smaller offset body (as compared to a Jaguar or Jazzmaster). The guitar also offers an offset hard tail choice for those that don’ t use tremolo much.

Chocolatey! I think it is a gorgeous instrument! Well done, PJD Guitars! You can clearly see the thinking process that went into this instrument! First of all, you cannot go wrong with Bare Knuckle Pickups! Secondly, sourcing quarter-sawn blanks ia always, always a good idea! You cannot go wrong with GraphTech and, Gotoh, bridge, well, yeah, not the fanciest one, but, it's still Gotoh, solid and will surve for years of abuse.

Chocolatey? Nah, it's very caramel-y in my book. Lovely bit of guitar! Completely agree on the bridge. If it had a better bridge, then it'd kill the competition. Also, considering they have custom options available for about 1800, I think PJD ought to be a lot more popular!

The price is very competitive but just a LITTLE more would make these a no brainer.

That is a beautiful guitar and the HB bridge/ neck P90 is now a very popular combination. Have you ever reviewed a modern Gordon Smith guitar- in addition to a range of stock models they do custom built hand made instruments here in the UK at a much lower price point than the guitar tested here.

Chocolatey! I think it's stunning. The Jaguar/JM shape is my favourite shape, I've got a Jaguar and a G&L Doheny. The price is high, yeah, but if it's hand-built to the standard you say it is, then it's not gonna be cheap. Like you say, something built to that standard from the big boys would be FAR more expensive. If I had that sort of disposable cash and was looking for another offset, I'd definitely look at one. Nice video by the way 🙂

What a masterpiece Andy, in sound and vision. Choclatey even. I think the other minor detail they could improve on would be a decent roller string tree. Otherwise it’s some machine. If money was no object for me I would be on this like a light. Great balanced review as usual Andy. It’s very like my G&L fallout tribute in form and pickups combinations, an excellent combination 👍❤️😄

Oof, that's a pretty offset. Very nice. Middle position for me is usually really good if you split the 2 humbuckers, with a double hum you need 2 volume controls like on a les paul so you can create your own blend of the pickups. What chocolatey though. troll rant without interpunction for effect: But you know only a gibson is good enough because they make the best guitars to the highest standard if this was a gibson it would be much better than someone else than gibson could ever make it thats why they cost so much they are just the best and all the others are just not as good and wish they were gibson.
