The amazing part about circumcision is that the reason it’s supposed to be done 8 days after a child is born, when that child is eight days old. Is because the blood clots on the 8th day, essentially it’s the body’s/Gods way of stopping the bleeding of damaged blood vessels and promotes healing to the body, but now days they do it soon after birth about 2-3 days and cut more then they should.

I’m not a Jew and live in Australia. In 2008 I elected to have my son circumcised. It wasn’t as easy as I expected it to be. There was only 2-3 Drs that do it and it required three separate appointments and cost around $700. Not many boys were circumcised his age and it affected my son. He questioned why he was different. Now he’s older he is grateful for it.

note: as a former medic I seem to remember that on the 8th day after birth, there is a clotting factor that is enhanced in the baby's blood. How wonderful a provision!

That clotting factor you speak of,is even better enhanced via the God given breast feeding,, for the nipple has sensors as well as the new born babies lips, and this enables the mother, that is more blessed than she knows,to adjust her milk to the child's needs,,,, amazing is the creations of God! How do you know this? State your source of information so that others can read about it. Don't just make a claim and offer nothing to support it. Abraham's covenent with God and the sign of that covenent was before Israel went to Egypt. How do you know Egypt did not get this practice from Israel?

I have never heard this take on it before, but I am absolutely sure it is right. When there is sin, blood must be shed. After Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, God presented them with skins to wear. I've seen that highlighted before as the first sacrifice since the animals had to be killed for their to even be skins. God seeking justice for Hagar is such a monumental concept, bravo for this study.

I believe circumcision was to set the family of God apart to grow the people of God. This fits with the ceremonial laws that kept the descendants as a separate and distinct community. Circumcision is then fulfilled in Christ by the circumcision of the heart by the Spirit in baptism- and the Church has maintained throughout the centuries this baptism of infants typically was at 8 days of life, indelibly marking the heart for Christ. As for the outward marking of the flesh by circumcision, sport at the time of Abraham and beyond was unclothed. A little fact; the Hebrew word for gymnasium means ‘naked sport’. It’s my understanding that chariot races were the only clothing exception. It was a norm of the time. All would publicly know who was a child of the God of Israel.

@@AboveReproachMinistryI see your point, but if it were a punishment of sorts for taking Hagar, I believe it would be a sign of shame more than of pride for the Israelites? I would suggest that it harkens back to Adam and original sin. Sin that is generational from the seed of Adam. A cutting away of the organ of generation as a blessing of the seed of Abraham and a figure of baptism that will cleanse us of original and actual sin.

Here is another way I use 17:12 to get people to think. I use it in a apologetics scientific manner to those that are on the fence about God and/or to affirm a brother or sisters faith. Why the 8th day? On the scientific level, Vitamin K production PEAKS ABOVE 110% on the 8th day of life, this is the ONLY time in a male's life this happens. Now what does vitamin K do? Well, firstly it increases clotting to heal a cut faster, but that is not all, K will provide relief of pain, increases resistance to infection, and fights infection faster just to name a few! There are a few more benefits but these are really something as is! The 8th day is the PERFECT day to circumcise a newborn vs any other time in your life! So not only is it an outward symbol of being under Abraham's covenant, plus it's a symbol of how spiritually Jesus will circumcise our soul from our sinful physical self when we choose Him over ourselves and the world. But there is also some practicality in physical health that also shows that the people of that time would not have known this and this shows how God reveals Himself in the fact that only He would know the health benefits of the 8th day! Baptism of infants was never taught by Jesus or the Apostles as baptism is an act that is done by persons who are convicted of their sins, repented and are declaring they are dead to their sins and reborn by the blood of Jesus. Infants do not know they need to repent and show they are dead to their sins. In Hebrew, the letter we know of as "h" is called the "hey" and is given to both Abraham and Sarah to change their names. The name hey means to behold. Hey also means breath, sigh, look, reveal and revelation. The letter hey is a picture of the Ruach HaKodesh/ Holy Spirit. The spirit is thought of as the breath of the mouth...breath of life. Genesis 2:7 Then YHVH, God, formed a person from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, so that he became a living being. Man was breathed into and was changed. YHVH, the name of God, has 2 H's. Our creator gave them new names including a "H" or breath of life. This is why Sarah's barren womb became fruitful ..

Abraham's age is mentioned because it's a sign that God offers salvation to people, no matter what time of their life. you can never be too old to repent and give your life to Christt, and you can also never be old enough or wise enough to not need him. Just as you say, the sign of salvation for the Hebrews and the gentiles is in the circumcision, it's also indicating that we need to put age aside, which, by the way, also offended Christ. Age Is not a definer of authority or wisdom…, I shall send babes to rule over you. Another thing to consider, the physical circumcision is also a sign of the change of our nature, we become different among men of the world, we become a new creation by cutting away the old which hides us from God. We become vulnerable in need of a new covering which is Jesus our Saviour!

The male in the scriptures represents the mind. The mind needs to be circumcised because it is an offence to god so we need to cut it off. All the suffering and evils of the world come from the mind. The christ is the promised child that is born from the woman (spirit) that has been blessed. The land that is promised is a spiritual land that you can enter when the christ opens the door, a land more real than the earth, our true home. A jew is not one outwardly but inwardly, they have circumcised there minds. We need to be careful what spirit we take in and what it gives birth to, the spirit of hagar gave birth to a wild man in Abraham, symbolicly of course, Paul says of Abraham all things are alagory. 🤍

When Moses refuses to circumcise his son in Exodus 4:24-26, it's obvious that the angel is not there to kill Moses as is claimed; the covenant is " And the uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people;" so he was there to literally cut off the child if he remained uncircumcised contrary to the Covenant. Zipporah also understood this, as she reproached Moses as a man of blood; he had almost caused the child's death by his stubbornness. If you consider this a test comparable to that of Abraham and Isaac, undoubtedly Moses failed...

The first born of creation means that Jesus was born before other creatures. He is number one. Any newborn is considered a son or a daughter and must have a mother, a father, and a creation as well. Who is the first mother of Jesus in heaven? This means that Jesus was born twice, once before creation And once on earth and his mother's name was Mary.. Born twice. This is a clear contradiction. As for Israel as a chosen people, this is true. I believe it, but now what did Jesus say about them? He said Israel is outside the service of the Kingdom of Heaven. Some of the children of Israel rejected Jesus and were killed by many prophets, so God decided to transfer his religion to another people who would reap its fruits. The significance of the 8 days is linked i think... to purification outside of entering eden, but i cant find the reference. BUT! I do know the 8 days are actually linked to an old sumerian story, the sumerians validated the story of lilith and applied may biblical references to her existence The three angels found Lilith in a cave bearing children but Lilith refused to come back to the garden. The angels told her they would kill 100 of her children every day for her disobedience. In revenge, she is said to rob children of life and is responsible for the deaths of still-born infants and crib deaths (SIDS). Male children are at risk of Lilith's wrath for 8 days after birth (until circumcision) and girls are at risk for 20 days. Although Lilith stole children's lives in the night, she agreed not to kill the children who had amulets of either of the three angels.

Circumcision is the "everlasting" blood covenant with God. Jesus is an everlasting blood covenant as well. Jesus' covenant does NOT abolish the first covenant. There are multiple covenants in the Bible - a new covenant never means other covenants are abolished; especially when the new covenant components/factors/purpose has nothing to do with the other covenants. God is still our God. It is an everlasting covenant. To teach it has been abolished (or at part of the law for that matter) when those words were never spoken from the Fathers mouth or Jesus mouth.... think deep and hard about who you want to follow based on these verses: Matthew 4:4 KJV But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the MOUTH of God. Just the phrase I am God almighty makes me question that verse because from what I understand God cannot show his presence to humans because you would die because of his power and Glory. So it makes me wonder if corrupt men added that verse for whatever deceptive reasoning
