Thanks for this video much appreciate it. I am strongly considering this Shure over any of the Rodes for my DSLR.

For me it’s the best on the market. Honestly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this one.

Will this microphone work well with a black magic 6k pro? Tia

When's Pete's vlog getting released? You keep teasing it ;) can't believe that has a dedicated recorder on it! Tiny screen definitely would do my head in a bit. I've got the Rode Video Mic Pro+ and it's just got a few buttons that are super quick to use. Pros and cons to both I guess! I don't quite understand the name choice though...

Hahaha Pete’s silent vlog. I can’t wait 🤣

Great video. I have the same mic and enjoy it’s quality. May I ask what levels you mainly keep the mic set to such as gain? Cheers

I honestly set it up each time... A Pain I know :/ How are you getting along with it?

Would this microphone pair well with the Sony ZV-1? I mainly want to do storytelling videos, indoors with a green screen background. In your opinion, would the ZV-1 + VP83F be a good combo for this purpose? Thanks so much!
@120fps3 жыл бұрын
It's an expensive pairing, but it would be an incredible one. Truly though if you get an external mic, try to get a really long jack lead (extension) so you can get your microphone as close to you as possible for your green screen videos. The closer it is to your voice the better it will sound.

@@120fps Thanks so much for the input. I would be sitting approximately 12-18 inches from the camera, at a desk. Would the Shure still be good in this scenario? I'd like to avoid having the microphone in camera view, ideally.

@@PauseResetPlay oh ok in that case it would be perfect!!

@@120fps Okay last question (I promise! For now!). Would you recommend the ZV1 or Alpha A7 II with 28-70mm lens? Given how I'll be using it primarily, of course.
@120fps3 жыл бұрын
Totally depends on budget mate. I’d say the a7ii offers more quality and versatility in case you wanted to do something else or additional in the future. But the zv1 offers a lot of a smaller price point. Or hold out and wait for the zv-e10 which should be launching any day and to get a bit of both and I would imagine for the same price as the zv1 currently.

Nice one gents, how good would it be if they had another input so could use wireless system into that as well to record would make the value proposition a lot better.
@120fps4 жыл бұрын
yeah that would be absolutely incredible - part mic part portable recorder... Thanks for being here, really appreciate it.

Zoom f1-sp is essentially the same but better because of the interchangeable mic capsules. And sounds better

I've not had the pleasure of testing that yet, sounds like a great option though

Oooh, that does sound rather nice listening to this with a big speaker set-up in the studio. here's a question that doesn't actually relate to this specific video: If you connect something like a Zoom H5 into a DSLR and connect up mics to it, does the audio get recorded on both the Zoom AND in camera? Cheers guys, for continuing to provide such great educational content 👍
@120fps4 жыл бұрын
Hey Simon, this one really surprised me, really awesome quality for a dslr mic. So, yeah that should work, although the quality will be degraded on the DSLR version and you'll loose headphone monitoring on the zoom itself. But as a redundancy back up on a budget, it's actually quite a good idea!!
@SimonBurnCreative4 жыл бұрын
@@120fps So the best thing to do then is not plug the zoom into camera, but plug in headphones, and let the camera record its own audio to use to sync up the zoom audio in post for best quality?
@120fps4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’d say so, it also mean that you don’t have to attach the zoom to the camera if you don’t want. I quite put our recorder on a spare light or mic stand. Means it can go in a better suited or more discreet location.

It sounds great, even on my laptop. However, I was disappointed that we didn't get to see it hop.

I'm trying very hard to read Pete's lips when he speaks, he's communicating to us. Enigma VS 2.0. GO!!!! (not let's goooo as everybody seems to be saying now). GO! It's an isolated GO with a low, projected voice. It's actually a direct rip from the GI.JOE PSA "Mr Body Massage Machine GO" Linked here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaiWeIeEq56bfs0

🤣🤣🤣 There is actually a theme to what he says in those parts... one day we will release that Easter egg. But only when there’s enough people to care about it (so probably never!!)
