Hi! Please can you tell me the differences between the Stella FK 1000 and the Stella FJ ?? Im looking a ultralight reel but the FK looks bigger than the FJ. Thanks!! Great video!

Same exact size man, all 1000 Shimanos will be of a very similar size, same with larger size classes as well (all 2500 Shimanos will be the same, etc). As far as a comparison goes the FK is definitely the better reel in almost all performance metrics, however if you can find an FJ for a good deal I'd say go for it! FJ's are still super nice and honestly have less issues than the FK, it's not always easy to get a good FK truth be told (lots leave the factory poorly constructed and not as smooth as they should be unfortunately). If you're lucky and get a good FK however there's really no reel better, unless you want lightness and sensativitiy in which case the Daiwa Exist is the best choice. hate the anti twist fin...i can live with some sagging of the line every once in a while. beats having grime, debris and salt collecting in that little area...i rinse what i can with fresh water, but its soo deep in there and theres no way for me to even fit a q tip in there either....not a fan of it.

To claim to be the best reel, then someone with experience/expertise needs to objectively hard-core field/fish test both this reel and the Daiwa 22 Exist and compare.

Cheers mate, but for this size of reel I'd say they are both equal and suit their purpose. 22 Stella is an overwhelmingly more powerful, solid feeling reel but this makes it heavy. Exist however is lightweight and SUPER smooth, but it has a heavy almost "sticky" feel in smaller sizes and less power. The way I see it Exist = finesse, Stella = power🙌🏽 Both amazing reels in their own way🤙🏽

@@tidalfishingadventures The 22 Exist is just as powerful and solid and gears are stronger, particularly on the PC models. My 22 Exist reels have no sticky feel and if you notice that in the beginning, the reason is the over all higher precision with tighter tolerances. I have 2 new 22 Stella as well, I am no brand fan. IMHO Exist is way better looking. 🙂

@@DrJanLindberg I find Stella is more powerful size for size, it's quite noticeable with lures with heavy resistance. I believe another channel has actually tested it on camera and stated Stella is easier to wind under heavy pressure also, however Exist is still a powerful reel and is smoother on average than Stella. Also I speak from what used to be called FC sizes in 18 Exist (1000SP/2000SP/2500SC), in these sizes 22 is heavy to wind, it may be due to additional magsealed bearings, in PC 22 size you won't notice it because reels with 2500 size body and larger also had full mag seal in 18 Exist and have more leverage to overcome the magnets, but with 22 Exist the previous "FC" models (all sizes with 1000 body) are now also fully magsealed, giving them a sticky magnetic sort of feeling. Some of it would be down to grease also as reels like Luvias suffer similar resistance, but 22 Exist seems to have a more magnetic tight feeling leading me to believe its also partly the addition of the magsealed bearings. Either way I believe both are amazing reels! And if I was to actually recommend one, funnily enough I'd recommend Exist 😂, because of the care they take at assembly, a lot of 22 Stellas are having issues from factory, so I'd recommend Exist over Stella as of now, until Shimano fix their quality issues!
