Enjoyed hearing from the AFCB guest. Suspect he'll be pleasantly surprised by the weather in Santa Barbara. Thanks for always making those arrangements. On Sam Dalby, I would be surprised if he is loaned out. Bit of a whipping boy online, but thought of highly by Parky, Mullin, Lee, and others. Wonder what would happen if fans hit him with positivity like say, Ollie, last season. He has made important assists and been excellent in the FA Cup, which generates income and fan excitement for the Club. He got the ball into Tommy to beat Shrewsbury, as just one example.

Dalby is one of the ones to watch this pre-season. Lots of players in the final years of their contracts and that often triggers that extra 5%. I (Nathan) don't think he should be written off

I loved the Bournemouth interview. At some point I need someone to properly explain to me why “the journey is better than the destination”. I’m sure you’re right. I’ve heard it a lot. I just don’t get it, yet.

The way I would describe it is the rise through the levels, the euphoria that comes with promotions and the positive effects of winning, is the 'real fun'. Getting to the top of the mountain (the Premier League) is great, a huge achievement, but it takes so much outlay to even stay up there, and if you do well you may well finish 13th/14th. Think people mean the journey to the Premier League is a lot more fun than actually making it - let's hope we get to see both sides!

Given they’re in the middle of their season, I doubt they’ll play their best 11. Friendly on Friday, they have a league cup match on Tuesday against LAFC. So I’d expect guys who haven’t been getting minutes and/or academy.

Trust me, the best mls teams are the same as mid level L1 teams. It’s a gimmick league. Don’t play with the same passion or intensity as teams fighting to promote. World of difference. Just look at what the mls did to Messi in less than a year. Turned him into a squad player for Argentina. Starters Vancouver vs starters for Wrexham will be a 1-3, maybe 1-4 Wrexham.

@@davidmiddleton6479 I love Wrexham but you are dreaming. The MLS players don't care less than Wrexham players do about winning. Yes, Promo/relegation takes a different mindset across a whole season but it makes no difference on a one game basis. At the end of the day, both teams are comprised of professional athletes, getting paid to play a game they love. All other things being equal, a mid-table MLS team would be competitive in the Championship assuming they were subject to promotion/relegation.

@robryanred have you seen the new Sunderland home shirt yet? That is totally bespoke,it reaks of club symbolism and is insanely popular with the fans. As per usual the club badge is a sticker rather than being embroidered and that is the only gripe I have heard. It is that good that fans who weren't planning on buying a shirt have bought for themselves and other family members. They did some with long sleeves and you could also get them without shirt sponsorship logos.

You can’t get ESPN+ in Canada. VPN doesn’t seem to help as they look to your GPS location instead of your IP address location when deciding if you are eligible. It’s quite frustrating actually as I am Canadian, and although I live in the US, I have spent the majority of the last 6 months plus the foreseeable future in Canada looking after my father who is ill, unfortunately. I am currently not getting much value from my ESPN+ subscription. I am hoping that TSN (Canada’s equivalent to ESPN) picks up coverage of the matches.
