It took me a long time to wrap my head around the idea that everything that has happened, is happening and will happen is happening at the same time. In other words, that time is a singular point within the fabric of space -- one that we all experience relatively. It's like an island that looks to someone in a ship like a speck on the horizon. The island is in their future. But to the person on the island, it is their present. The island hasn't changed -- only the way the two people experience it.
@lesroberts32263 жыл бұрын
Love your example rob. Once you pass the island it becomes the past. But if there’s an infinite number of dimensions all of which have differing actions and reactions what’s to say that time travel is more of a jump from one scenario to another, each one having a different level of advancement

What is hard to comprehend? The past does not exist anymore The future does not exist yet Only now has ever existed Now after now after now We do not exist physically We are not physical we are atoms which are subatomic electromagnetic energy waves that our consciousness creates an imagined existence. I think… therefore I exist…. Everything else is just a product of MY thoughts … my consciousness creates all that I believe exists…. We are a singularity that creates this story like a writer creates a fictional story.. then we add imagined colours and sounds and thoughts… Angstroms ? Sights vibrating energy Decibels ? Anyways I still don’t have a hover board 15 years later but I think that if time travel existed, it would only be available to the most powerful nation’s government and would be heavily restricted and regulated. "Time travel" has indeed been proven, just not with humans, but with 'particles' at particle accelerators. When accelerated to a high percentage of the speed of light, certain particles experience a "slower passage of time" compared to their surroundings, and it has been documented. This has the net effect of these particles traveling "to the future", albeit at a very very small scale in these experiments.

Something that was not discussed is one's dreams. I and likely others have had many experiences with family members long dead in a setting in the past (at least the past I recall) and some of these dreams seem quite real. Being able to control one's dreams to leap back into time when desired, with whom and where is a bit more difficult. And, although less frequent I have had dreams carrying me into the future as well, or I presumed it to be the future. This is a different take on the common thought of time travel, but can seem that way to someone who is in that state of a dream.

Seriously. I can say with complete confidence that I witnessed a time traveller a few years ago . My problem is that I was walking my dog around 2.00am and the only other person around was the one that disappeared, that young lady was just a few feet away from me but I had turned away to call my dog. Here’s the thing, I live in Surrey, Greater London. It had just finished snowing ( which doesn’t happen that often) which is why I wanted to walk the dog to see his reaction. With regards to snow you cannot walk through it and suddenly disappear in an instant leaving no footprints. There’s more to this, but it’s like i said, I was alone. No one is going to believe me and I don’t care about what people think, I know what I saw. Other details make it so much more believable but I don’t want to waste my time explaining myself to people who think you’re either making it up or you’re mentally unstable.

@@Havanacuba1985 thank you for your support Paul. The young lady was wearing a back pack and walking towards me. This makes me feel a little uncomfortable because of the time and that no one else was about. However I was turning right so I picked up the pace, but she turned left and walked directly at me. I said hello and she did the same. As we reached the corner it was well lit but you could hear nothing. I turned to check my dog was coming, and when I turned around she had vanished. Her footprints in the snow stopped at the kerb, there were no tyre tracks in the snow ( but like I said the silence was deafening) i literally looked away for a couple of seconds. I have a different dog now and I still take the same route at night. Sometimes I think i hear people laugh or talk at the same place, but I think it’s just paranoia creeping in. Then when I get home and think about it you just don’t know . I stand by what happened 100%👍

@@DJhutcherson the origins of philosophical wisdom can be found in Aristotle. Ethics (Moral) represents an aspect of the unity of the nature of human existence, defining the criteria for evaluating any meaning on a scale of "good-bad", the hierarchy of emotional response in the information technology networks of social communication of changing generations of a globalized human being. (Aristotle considers the world as a single ordered whole, in which every process is directed towards a specific goal (telos) (3) and each object contains its own purpose and seeks to realize it. This is not only about artificial objects created as a result of conscious and purposeful activity of a person - a craftsman or artist. In the case of artificial things, the purpose that they carry in themselves is set from the outside by the person who created them and completely coincides with their purpose for which they were created. Every natural formation in itself has a purpose that Aristotle defines it as "'that for which', or good (for good is the goal of all arising and movement)" (Met. I 983a30)(4) In other words, every natural creature in the world - stones, plants, animals, man - strives for the good, understood as the perfection of his own nature.In human activity, too, "every art and every teaching, and likewise an act and conscious choice is commonly believed to strive for a certain good” (EN I 1094a). In this context, in its most general form, virtue can be defined as "the best state" (MM I 1184a), the conformity of a thing to its purpose, an indicator of the realization in it of its own nature.)

Question: What if you didn't want to travel back or forward through time. What if you wanted to move from one point locally in space to another? So for instance a portal or door way from New York to Japan. Would you be forced to move through time? Would it still require the same amount of energy?
@2bitvideogames2593 жыл бұрын
in order to move from one place to another instantaneously, yes, these are, in fact, the same thing as I understand. We now think of these this way, to be in a different location at the same time from a location past the distance which photons (light particles) can travel in that time will require faster then light travel and as such infinite energy. Whether moving temporally without distance (so to speak) or spatially in no time, indeed any combination of these is the very same. in physics space and time are no longer though of as different realms but the same one now referred to simply as spacetime. I hope this helps. I have a hard time mentally with it myself quite frankly, one thing that helped me wrap my head around it is the lyric of a piece of music by Dark Whisper titled Hyperspace kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHy6dJSrlMyjsJo there are none that have power like this except one in which I and others believe in who is omnipotent (all powerful) and omnipresent (in all places at once). There are so many factors to take into account. If you went back only a few hours, say from Germany, you could end up hundreds of feet in the air over Texas, or worse, hundreds of feet underground. If you went back just a few years, you could end up floating in the middle of space where the earth currently was when you left. What about atmospheric pressure and temperature changes? A sudden switch would kill you instantly.

You sound just like me ... I've been saying exactly this for years, that Time Travel (TT) must necessarily involve four dimensions (possibly more? Brrrr) and one helluva lot of absolutely pin-point navigation. We are on the surface of a spinning ball that itself is hooping larger 'circles' around our sun which itself is hooping through space (and time!). You'd not only have to know all of the variables, your navigation must be absolutely precise and your machinery absolutely spot on in its delivery. And- -and to not digress: I had the idea (once, a fiction story) for a science fiction weapon that knocked the recipient back in time by one zillionth of a second. So? So there are now two of him trying to occupy the same space at the same time. So? So instant total disruption of both of him ... if we think about it, this is how a bullet kills, the bullet is simply trying to share the same space at the same time as the recipient, and the harder/faster disrupts the softer/slower. No two physical objects can occupy the same co-ordinates in space/time without disruption. No?

One of the most interesting topics for sure. Yes we do time travel in a sense. Each day that passes is going forward in time. Unfortunately we can't go fast enough to a day a week etc, etc. However when we look at pictures of ourselves or family and friends who no longer are with us we time travel in our minds to that moment of time but we can't physically be there or when we watch a TV show from a day ago or years ago or listening to an album from music recorded a year or years ago we are time traveling.I have watched many movies and shows about time travel and it's definitely wishful thinking.

You believe that time itself can be fooled by your attempts to hide your presence? As if Time were sentient? No matter what you do or where you hide from perception, if you change or move even a single particle that was originally in the past moment in time, you instantly create a brand new moment because the original moment had the particle in a different place and also it did not contain your presence. Basically, a moment is defined by all objects and thoughts in specific locations and actions. If you change anything...if you displace or breathe even a gram of extra oxygen, that original moment is lost and a new moment arises. This new moment contains you and your time machine...even if you land in the middle of a desert with zero persons to see you. You just shifted the sand under your machine and thus created a brand new moment...because the original authentic moment did not have shifted sand particles or your presence.

In my opinion, time is just matter rearranging down at the atom relative to each other atom. Disorder ( entropy) is always at play whether we are talking about aging or age of any matter. Say you want to go back 20 years in time. You would have to rearrange every atom in this planet including the atoms composing the neurons precisely back to the position in which those atoms were relative to each other . Think star trek type transporter. But what about the rest of the planets, you would also have to put them back to their specific location or you would realize it is not the same. What about the rest of the cosmos, you would have to put it back the way it was. The amount of energy required would be too much. So when someone says travel back in time, it is not possible because of the amount of energy to place all atoms back in place. But if you're talking about traveling into the future like in a spaceship then yes because you are controlling only the movement of the atoms in the spaceship and not the rest of the atoms in the universe. The rest of the universe continues to entropy faster relative to the spaceship. You can also look at time dilation as a way to know which object is moving the closest to the speed of light. The one that is the closest to the speed of light is the one with the slowest entropy (time).

I like that the most knowledgeable scientist about this particular subject interviewed here (Kepp Thorn) admitted that we need much deeper knowledge about space-time than we currently have, to really figure out time travel.

Would time travel merely be the perception of the passing of time or would it actually have an impact on the physiology of the person time travelling? Would their perception be different from the physical effects of time?

Can someone please explain how is it possible to travel back in time without violating the second law of thermodynamics???? The atoms you are made of were a part of something else back then. So you’ll arrive there as an extra bunch of matter. Will that not create some kind of disturbance?

That law applies only to raw materials... otherwise how do you explain that today's earth population is 7 billion and 100 years ago there were only 5 billion of us?

I believe “time travel” can be achieved by spiritual means but not in a technology way.
@robertbruner74292 жыл бұрын
You might be right. If by "spiritual" you're referring to what our consciousness is, and is capable of, and if as many suspect, it exists independently of the brain, then it's relationship to time/space might be massive.

It's like looking at your browser history. Everyday you are emitting new light(browser log) and you are able to go back to a specific page and time because it is logged into a linear cascading system. If light can be logged, then yeah I suppose the tangible nature can allow us to time travel just within the system. Just like you can't go back to websites before google snapshots. But then again, there is also no such thing as future.

Yes, time travel is possible. I know this for a fact. It's nothing like the movies. The rifts in space and time produce a tremendous amount of radiation. Quantum radiation, to be exact. As I have learned, experiencing time travel communication more than once, there can be ZERO direct communication from future. It can, however, be indirect. This is to reduce chances of temporal and even boot strap paradoxes.

@@asaphmartin9563 CORRECT! I filmed a fleet of vertical positioned drones from the future. They manipulate the gravity around them. When when you try and film them with a standard shitty phone camera, you get a distorted, undescernable shape, because of the light refraction. The reason they are showing themselves to the military BUT NOT making direct contact is as follows: they are avoiding paradoxes, primarily temporal and boot lace paradoxes. If you watch Family Guy, or even the Simpsons back in the day, you will get the same message regarding time travel- Do not interfere with the past. These drones and even "tic tac" UFOs are letting the present military know that They are friendlies. The Nordic aliens are planning on taking us out, once and for all. The friendlies, are the grays. And it's not because they like us, it's because they need us. Without us, they would have already gone extinct.

How do you deal with the fact that, as time passes, the earth moves through space? Where you arrive becomes as important as when you arrive. For example, in the film version of HG Well's "Time Machine" the protagonist moved his time machine about 20 feet so he wouldn't reemerge inside the Morlock's cave. That would be fine if the earth were stationary. if I went back an hour in time I would "materialize" in empty space because the earth would be approximately 2.1 million kilometers from where it is now. (see "How Earth moves through space" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3vLmI14o5J_fsk 19:40 into the video.) You could argue that time travel would be possible if you could calculate exactly where the earth would be when you expected to arrive, but if you were off by say 10 kilometers, you might be in very thin air, or deep in the crust of the earth. Neither location would be particularly propitious to human life. Anyone want to guess where in space the earth was when Lincoln was assassinated? Another possibility is that travel through time would occur irrespective of travel through space, but I have a difficult time grasping that idea. Can anyone help me out here?

Perhaps the time/space travel concept would work better in orbit-liking superman flying fast around the planet to travel through time. Like a big ship sailing in the ocean, time needs a bit of space to travel in, so it does not hit anything and can arrive at the somewhat desired location.

Time travel is not PHYSICALLY possible; however it is SPIRITUALLY possible to see the Past and Future...To add, we can also go back in time in our minds and remember past experiences.
