You sound like a Tweeterhead spokesperson. It's not a great look. Tweeterhead has serious issues with customer service and the recent actions by Chad may violate consumer laws. I don't foresee purchasing anything else from them. I hope those customers who are waiting get their products soon.

Chris, a company can have great products and great prices, but if their customer service is subpar or worse, I stay away from them. Just like I do with retail stores, bars and restaurants. In business, customer service is priority number one. Nothing is more important than how you treat, service and communicate with your customers.
@craighay90862 күн бұрын
To be honest Chris, I don't think the many that are having issues are saying that Tweeterhead is a scam company, they are saying that their treatment as a customer is way below the standard it should be. Yes, of course people will be annoyed that you yourself used a term like keyboard warrior to describe members of the community. This was uncalled for, as the customers are just regular people with valid concerns. Not serial complainers as they were made out to be. However, at the same time I think people will appreciate it was a very awkward situation on the live show, and I'm sure very uncomfortable for you, and for others. Not a nice situation to be in, but everything can't be swayed to positivity, things have to be confronted sometimes. What hasn't helped is this constant white knighting of Chad, and calling him a great guy. Would a great guy ignore his customers for 9 months, and only react when he were forced to publicly?, I don't call holding refunds back to get your own business in order great.....I call it kind of selfish. The customers should come first. They helped build Tweeterhead, and at the very least, they need to be communicated with. Let's be very clear, this is not a customer service issue, this is a management issue. This is Chad telling his employees not to respond to refund requests, and anything other than purchases. Yes, Chad might be your friend, but to many, what he is to them, is a business owner, pure and simple. It's a transaction based relationship and nothing more. Has all the refunds caused him problems....sure it has. But, you shouldn't use pre order money to get your products made. That capital should come from elsewhere to avoid issues like this. Man, you and chad have really got to stop promoting this as just a customer staff issue too. This isn't a sudden lapse in customer service, it's been going on a very long time at Tweeterhead. It's a management issue pure and simple. Things are not being run properly. Staff at Tweeterhead are being instructed by your friend Chad, to hold off giving refunds, and even communicating with customers. That's just not right. I feel sorry for the staff working for him, that have to read all these incoming e-mails and complaints. I'm sure that they are likely good people, and have no real love avoiding customer e-mails. It can't make you feel good about yourself. Maybe that's why there is a constant turnover of staff on customer service. It's also a big kick in the teeth to collectors, and people that follow you, that despite these issues, you continue to promote Tweeterhead HARD. I'm not sure that is appropriate to be promoting new products, at least until they resolve their issues with customers, and start paying everybody back. I can't hear that they are "Just a small business" anymore. That just doesn't cut it. They need to start facing up to their responsibilities, their contracts, and put their customers first. They make some absolutely outstanding products, probably some of my favourites in this hobby, but they need to get their act together, especially in how they treat their customers. That's more important than the next product down the line.

Reading this brings me in disbelief, but moreover if they are purposely holding money and rely on purchases to commission new statues then it's not surprising no one is getting anything as they are unable to pay their artists to do them. Think they might be over if this is true. When the sales drop there will be no money for future commissions and what then..
@craighay90862 күн бұрын
@@Arynex Oh it's true sadly, it took me months and the involvement of a payment company to get my money back. Sadly it appears that many others, are having the same or similar issues. Chad is "nice," perhaps, but he has been terrible at customer service for as long as he has been in business. It isn't new. Also, implementing a zero refund policy on cancelations is putting blame on customers, not the delays. No ones likes the idea of not getting their money back after a late product. Nice try. "He wants to make right by the customer." BS, he literally has been this way forever. How can you say he wants or is going to get better? My first product from them was the Julie Newmar catwoman, and it was a #$@%ing joke. All he did was lie to me for 2 months. The only reason I bought Teela from them was, obviously, a love of the character, but also that David Igo was working there. At this point, even my appreciation for other artists aren't going to get me to buy. Do you get free products or any kind of compensation from Tweeterhead?

@NorthernLadMSP2 күн бұрын
If you are ignoring customer emails and refusing to refund money for cancelled pieces that were cancelled PRIOR to the implementation of their new scummy policy, then the answer is yes. There is absolutely no excuse for this behavior. Their statues are really great, but if this awful reputation continues and they do nothing to turn it around, I don't see them lasting long term. And when I say that they need to do a lot to turn it around, I'm talking about more than just words and empty promises. There needs to be a lot of visible action that people can physically see. Plus, you need to look at the true reason that these cancellations are happening. We know it's mostly not due to bad QC. It's more than likely caused by extreme delays and the current state of the economy, neither of which is the customer's fault. Also, to the BSC, here's a word of advice. Don't fall in to the current trend of name calling with people that you don't agree with. Calling people trolls or keyboard warriors when they are expressing EXTREMELY valid concerns does absolutely nothing to help the situation, and I can guarantee you for a lot of people, it makes things worse.

IF in the T&Cs hold true, he does have the right, BUT due to the amounts of moneys lost by people’s, AND profiting from this - if proven he is, then there’s a legal ground. Really, he should implemented at least a 15%-25% charge WHEN the item is in the country and ready to ship status. I agree that Chad appears to be a good and likeable person. However, it takes much more than being a good person to be a good business person. I think the major issue is companies placing an expected production/ship date and not following through with meeting that timeline. If you’re a company, you can say it is this or that to justify delays. Lately “this or that” is not transparent. Sideshow settled the delay issue by automatically canceling customers orders who were going to be delayed. Unless, you responded that you accepted the order delay. I personally am a victim of XM with 4 PO’s that never went through and sacrificing NRDs just so I could continue collecting. Bottom line. Collectors invest in statues with their money. Companies that delay greater than 6 months should be held accountable. The only way to stop it, is to stop PO unless there is a legal agreement for the company to deliver in a specific timeframe or the customer is completely refunded. This issue with Tweeterhead should be noted and collectors should beware.

I think Chad needs to reconsider selling direct. The abysmal customer service issues aren't going to be solved overnight, especially not by hiring just one guy. People love his products, but the horrible customer service has driven many customers away. Just sell through Sideshow. Because if things continue as they have been, Tweeterhead won't be around in a year, and that would be very sad. Also, the no return policy? Violates consumer protection laws. If his statues are one day late, he has to give full refunds. He just can't say he's not going to do that. People who are really his friends need to start being honest with him. That video attacking Tweeterhead customers cost him business. Remarks here right now attacking customers are costing him business. People need to stop. He needs to hear the truth. I appreciate you addressing this. I think the wait time between announcements and shipping needs to get shorter. Trailers for a movie, for example, don’t get released 2+ years before the movie comes out. I love the excitement from some of their reveals, but when communication lacks, pre-orders take months or years+, excitement can dwindle, and you’re stuck with pre-orders that you don’t love anymore, and want to cancel. If they can keep up their pace behind the scenes, but maybe be a little quieter regarding what’s coming down the pipes in the public.. maybe that’s a good idea for now 🤷♂️ Thoughts?

I have several Tweeterhead products, and their art direction is second to none in my opinion. Chad is really cool and I corresponded a lot with him in 2013-2014 during the initial release of the Batman ‘66 maquettes. I was a bit disappointed that he didn’t finish the line as I really wanted an Otto Preminger Mr. Freeze. However, I understand that as a business, you have to produce what is actually going to sell. I think one of the biggest issues is that they have so many ambitious ideas, but unfortunately many of them never come to fruition because they end up changing their focus too often only five or six statues in. As a collector of a particular line, I am a completest and want to see something through to the very end. Many of the lines had too many concepts that went unfinished making each line feel incomplete. The ‘66 line, the golden age classics, Super Powers, etc. etc. all sort of stopped abruptly without warning. I think the most valuable lesson they need to take is not to take on too much if they’re not yet in a position to deliver the goods. Again though, I really hate to say anything negative because my experiences with them in the past was mostly positive.
@stationarywanderer79102 күн бұрын
Stopping all the old lines abruptly after making many promises that this would not happen cost him business and drove customers away. This idea that going upscale in price with a 2.0 line was the path to bigger bucks was a mistake, given that he cancelled everything else. Those lines were loved. There was great positive momentum for the Super Powers line. He promised lines would be finished. Had people voting on designs. The boon, finished. A big mistake. Now it seems that 2.0 is being made a Batman line. The market is awash with Bats statues, there's a glut of them. I don't get it. He needs to rethink it.

Multiple people have had to file credit card disputes on them. 3. They engage in dishonest practices. I mentioned the Batman/Batgirl/Robin base they promised (where if you bought all three statues, you’d get a special base to display all three together). They just totally never delivered on that. They also released an extra run of their Batman statue as an announced exclusive to Chad’s friends, so people who thought they were buying a (IIRC) 250 edition size statue found another (again, IIRC) 125 were released. 4. They ship products *extraordinarily* late, which is why they’re having problems with cancellations. 5. Their new policy (no refunds, even if the statue is late or even damaged in shipping) is illegal. 6. Less discussed, even if your statue arrives completely destroyed: no refunds. You can get a replacement (if they have any) or store credit only. 7. Every few months, Chad comes out and declares he’s really fixing customer service this time. He never does, but we’re all like battered spouses who believe, “he’s really going to change this time.” 8. They claim they’re going to address this, but they have a habit of releasing a statue, getting everybody locked into preorders, and *then* announcing a variant. Which leaves a bad taste in the mouths of customers who might have liked to make an informed decision. 9. He stays friendly with KZbinrs (Secret Sanctuary/BSC/etc), so they run cover for him. They have good experiences, so they do damage control. The best option is for them to sell through Sideshow, and let Sideshow handle the customer service and hold Tweeterhead accountable.

So much to comment on and so little time. It's hard to have good customer service, when there are no good answers to give. Design change: Chad needs to make the 1/3 legs to go with the 1/3 busts. He also needs to have a GPS added to his shipments, so they do not get lost in the pacific ocean somewhere. Price point is great, so not sure why some are cancelling. Being a nice guy will drive future sales, only when the price and delivery times are acceptable. Darkseid is coming...

Why are you addressing this? Chad should have replied to the post trashing him. I like TH statues and have never had a problem. Some customers are a pain in the ass but he still needs to communicate better.

He told me this morning that he will be responding to the community further about Customer Service. I felt the need to talk about it today, because I understand the frusterations of the collectors that are not getting responded to, and hopefully this video will help get the message across to TH that they need to do better.

To me, a compnay arent scammers unless you don't get your product or your money back and just get the run around like tht resin company who owe mad people money. 75% of companies probably has bad customer service. By this logic sony is a scam company(theu have bad customer service) and anyone who has bad customer service. Tht dont equal a scammer to me and thts aslipper slop to me🤷♀️🤷♀️ The fact tht hes trying to work on it and even wants to talk about it shows there not scammer. In wht world would a scammer want to talk about how they scamming you or wants the fire put to him since he know there a problem 😂😂😂 Wuts the point in complaing about no refund when 75 of 3rd part seller say no refund. All my statue i bought were no refund. Thts the purpose of vetting who you are buying fr and thts why all my statue/figures ive bought 3rd part have been real amd basically bramd new🤷♀️🤷♀️

Tweeterhead is not a scam company. That's stupid. Just buy their products from Sideshow or not at all.

Yea they’re a small company, stop expecting miracles, this hobby is full of nerds, and they can be some of the worst customers with lots of complaining. If everything isn’t absolutely perfect then you’ll never hear the end about it.

People have legitimate complaints. It's outrageous to attack customers for expecting a company to have good customer service.

You do realize that further insulting his customers only hurts his business? You are NOT helping. Those "nerds" are buying his products and keeping his company afloat. I just wonder how out of it you have to be to think that insulting the people buying his products is a good idea.

Thanks for standing by Chad. Whether good or bad, Chad has every right to change his policies at his own company. As a customer, you have every right to take your business elsewhere. As someone who owns 27 tweeterhead statues, I’ve never had an issue with customers service. Chad has now warned us of the new policy. We as the customers need to be more financially responsible and take accountability for our decisions.

Sorry, but no. His new policy plainly violates the FTC’s Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule. Business have a wide range of policies they can set, but they can’t set policies which are in violation of law. And none of that addresses the fact that you can’t even get them to honor their own policies.

No, from the live chat with alex and geo, it look like they do not want people just changing their minds and expecting a refund. This kind of behavior will put a company in bankrupt. I do agree that Tweeterhead should implement this on future products but not on old products that have not deliver to the customer. Basically what I am trying to say is if you sign your name on the dotted line you should bear responsiblity on buying or losing your deposit afterall it is really you who enabled the company to make the products and if you decide on changing your mind you actually hurt the existing company. Of course, everyone is going to attack me now and say oh you are a boot licker for the statue companies but really think about this way if you are a statue company and everyone pulls out and doesn't buy at the last second before they are made, doesn't that put your company at risk of closing?

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this topic. It's important that collectors look at all sides of this issue, and the consequences that may happen as a result from both sides.

So in My opinion, i get both sides of the argument. People get frustrated that their money is tied up for an x amount of time waiting on the product but at the same time you cant cry about the same thing every other day asking for an update. Chad says its on the water then its on the water just be patient. And i have alot of patience. Now if the product is never received thats a different story. But ill stand behind tweeterhead until proven otherwise. As far as the new policy goes i think its a smart move on his end. You will never make everyone happy no matter what you do. Dont like it, order elsewhere. Simple.

Chad is a great guy and has taken care of issues with statues I have had in the past. Great company, quality work and really fair prices. To keep those prices low, I get he is trying to handle the customer service issues himself, or using a skeleton crew. This I think is starting to show issues. As far as the non-refundable policy - I get it, makes sense. I think the main frustration is the delay in products shipped, and that is something they can't control. Communication with us needs to be much better. The fact the product release schedule on their website is not updated is ridiculous. As for the community, if you want them to maintain the quality of work for fair prices then show some grace. If you don't like it don't buy. Pretty simple.

I don't buy anything new unless it has a massive promo sale (got the Prime 1 Batman Dark Knight Returns, the OG, for 300$ brand new during Black Friday sales, which is amongst the best bang for my bucks ever and makes me enjoy the statue even more). Otherwise, I buy everything from the secondary market. It allows me to check the product, I don't have to worry about preordering and 99% of the time, I've got a better deal than if I had purchased it brand new. Only exception : custom pieces from reputable commissioners simply because they offer top notch statues for way less than licensed studios.
