I like the fact they’re doing more gen 9 and it’s not the same Pokemon all the time. Bored of charizard Rayquaza eeveelutions. Nice to have a change. After all it is Scarlet and Violet era so having more scarlet and violet makes sense

So do I. I just think it's getting to be a little much. This would be 3 main sets in a row that is pure gen 9. And 6 total out of 10. We also don't need zard or Rayquaza, or eeveelutions. There's alot of other pokemon that can be used. That's why I like paradox rift. A good mix up

This is the first set to come out in a while that I’m actually anticipating. I think the blood moon cards are really cool along with the infernape and greninja.

Yea, I knew there were gonna be some people who love this set. I do like the greninja and infernape, but that's not enough for me to open the set. I would just buy the dirt cheap singles.

I’m a little worried about twilight mascaras. I like some gen 9 but I’m not a fan of the generation. This is going to make temporal forces even more popular. Ehh I would like to see what the plan will be for the set following. I think pokemon is worried which is why the announced it on temporal force release day.

I think what we see here in terms of selection are the Kitakami setting plus pokemon. To answer your question of why this theme was chosen. I agree this set is lackluster but the reason it’s like this is because of the space between DLC development and the set development so this would have been received a little better if it would have been set to release closer to the DLC for S/V release.

For sure. I just wished they did a little more variety like paradox rift. The new people need to learn the older pokemon also.

Not sure about that, if pokemon keeps existing its just going to be too much. Its probably better to have a strong link with a (couple gens) than a little bit of everything. But maybe I'm wrong there. I just returned to the hobby after a lot of years and I'm totally lost haha. I do get what you are coming from though, for sure my 2 year old nephew will know the OG's ;).

@nljmaas I just think it's easier to hook newer people with some older pokemon in there that we know are popular instead of all brand new ones that we don't know if they will be popular. But I see what you're saying. If you're lost I suggest watching the show. You will end up loving pokemon that you never thought you would.

I actually think its a good thing that they're utilizing all of the DLC pokemon, plus, they have two connecting cards, being the poltchageist and sinistcha, and growlithe and perrin. The set also features pinsir, and even a starter in infernape, I think theyre still doing a fantastic job with all of the artwork, and youll get your heavy gen 5 set when they release the indigo disk set.

I completely disagree to be honest I adore the fact that theyre giving some attention to Pokemon that “aren’t popular” especially considering a lot of my favourite ones are typically described as “obscure, weird or just down right ugly” I’m so sick of charzard and the typical popular Pokémon cards.

hey man love your videos just found your channel a few days ago. how the heck do people keep up with the sets that pokemon is releasing? I mean it's cool to have variety but how much life does the hypothetical pokemon horse have before it can be considered "dead"? I'm still collecting sword and shield sealed product and rarely some 151 but I really haven't even touched scarlet and violet.. Just seeing less and less reason to do so.

I appreciate that! Yea, it's crazy how many sets there are. The S&V is actually a very good generation, especially with 151, and paldea evolved, but they are for sure pumping out too many gen 9 pokemon. If I were you, I would just go for the popular sets in S&V like 151, paldea evolved, paradox rift since you can get them so cheap. Definitely not worth grabbing every set

Growlithe is beautiful, infernape is straight fire, heliolisk, phone and pinsir, Eevee and applin are all waaaaay better than any other cards in this set. Stop basing your opinion on special illustration rares and how much money they are worth. It's always been like this in Scarlett and Violet, people seem to like what they get told to like, roaring moon and mew have been the only great SIRs so far this gen. Just normal illustration rares for the win.

Only card I want from that set is the eevee card and screamtail. Just buying the singles. So much cheaper doing it that way anyways. I rarely open anymore to expensive lol. But it's fun when I do.

Ogerpon is terrible but there are a ton of amazing IR’s in this set, and you pull 3-4 of those in a box. I’ll be opening at least one booster box.

Yea, it's for sure a top tier set. The only thing is if you don't like gen 9, you probably won't love it. That's why I actually think paradox rift is the best. Has a great variety of older pokemon, and the new gen 9 in it are remakes of some of the most popular pokemon ever.

If all year 2 sv sets are dlc based… than that means year 3 will be a wild card on which Pokémon are chosen to get SAR’s. I agree that some of these Pokémon aren’t the best, but the art is undeniable!

@@PokeBeardTCG but nobody complains when they consistently drop Gen 1/2/3 and Charizards(Zard has 3 SARs already...) right? and they literally gave an entire set to the whole of Gen 1 for this era so them doing more Gen 9 focus isn't a problem tbh. Perfectly fair trade off i don't think anything older pokemon focus will drop til around SV7/8 anyways due to Toperagos and Pechurant.

They would have 0 reason to buy some of these sets. That's why having variety is great.

I agree about Twilight. I am a big fan of Temporal Forces and the Scarlet and Violet game. It’s a shame people gave up early as it’s a great game. Hopefully the bugs will be ironed out for the next open world game they do

Entire SV set so far is pretty meh to me. Started with early SWSH to get back into collecting pkmn and when the trainer gallery happened halfway it was amazing to pair it with them, compared to SV illustration rares they feel boring. And EX cards aren't really doing it for me, they remind me of flea market Shiny fakes when I was a kid

The TG didn't happen half way. It was like the last 5 sets. I will put money on it, says S&V will come on top, all said and done. Go look at sword and shield, rebel clash, champions path, darkness ablaze, shining fates. It's not even close

I haven't watched the video yet (I will be on break later). I agree this set has the potential to be not so great. The company seems to really be trying to push this set in eng and jp focusing so much on ogerpon. Some have said because ogerpon is so popular but I think it's the opposite. I believe they WANT ogerpon to be highly viewed. Similar to many other mon they have pushed and pushed and community follows. I would like to like ogerpon (in tcg). It won't be with this set alone but maybe something in the stellar set will make that true.

More tcg playable as it should be and they gave a few nice arts for collectors. Honestly I think there doing it this way to tank the secondary market being scalped and on the other hand making the cards hard to pull it gives the collectors some value for there cards in the graded community. I belive there trying to find the right balance between the player and collector and at same time keep prices down for tcg side.

From what I've seen, I haven't seen anything super crazy playable. I just wish they sprinkled in older pokemon like paradox rift did. And nothing is really getting scalped for English besides maybe 151.

Yea, we still got half the set to see, so hopefully, we will get something crazy. If you're getting booster boxes, don't pre-order unless its a crazy set. The prices always drop down.
