This kind of stuff is why I don't like paying full price for downloaded games, one day it'll be gone and the money will have been wasted. (Related to that, I don't purchase movies/tv shows that way at all for the same reasons). I don't think I've bought an Ubisoft game since AC:The Black Flag because out of nowhere they take you out of the game and force you to register an account with them and that really annoyed me to the extent I never want to spend money on their games again.

I'll be honest and say I actually do play Ubisoft games, mainly Rainbow Six Siege which is the only game I play that's live service. The only other game I still haven't played much but want to play is Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Very disappointed that the game is live service compared to Wildlands. I bought a lot of Ubisoft games over the years but I definitely don't pay full price for games anymore, well at least for Ubisoft games that is and other games as well that aren't Ubisoft.

That's always been the case. Even with physical media it was always you purchasing the rights to play/use it with a clause stating that you agree to the terms and conditions by simply using it.

I don't think Lawbreakers was a bad game, it just came out with a lot of similar type games already on the market with Overwatch being the peak of the hero shooter genre. When a CEO is telling you're going to get comfortable with their terms is the moment you spend your money elsewhere.

At this point, I don't care. Anyone who buys an online only game only sets them up for this to happen. You can't just enter into an agreement and then start screaming when the companies start exercising their rights listed within that contract. Honestly, Ubisoft games have became low tier trash in my opinion. I was holding out hope for star wars outlaws until we found out they were essentially going to pay wall part of the game. This hobby has became so ridiculously expensive.
