Is Ukraine Using an "Elastic Defense?" Or Just Losing the War?

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for June 23, 2024...
- Western narratives continue to suggest Ukraine is buying time for additional arms and ammunition to arrive at the front;
- However, Western military production is unable to supply sufficient arms and ammunition to turn the tide in the fighting;
- Articles discussing an "elastic defense" admit the lopsided nature of fighting in Russia's favor;
- Other signs of flagging Western aid is the desperate decision to delay Patriot missile orders to redirect missiles to Ukraine;
- The US only produces 550 interceptors a year while Russia launches over 4,000 missiles at targets across Ukraine over the same period;
- "Factories" Western arms manufacturers claim they are building in Ukraine are mis-advertised, and instead small repair shops with negligible strategic value;

All this about the war contractors is sickening but all too familiar to me. On two different job sites (two different war contractors - SAIC at Fort Huachuca, AZ, and Rhinocorps at White Sands Missile Range), I prepared the status reports, and on both occasions, I saw so much fraud, waste, and abuse amounting to millions of dollars. It pained me then and still does to know that the US still does not have a universally accessible healthcare system, its infrastructure is a shambles, and its schools are deplorable. This says nothing of the hundreds of thousands (probably millions) of homeless inhabiting the downtown areas of most major US cities. The US pursuing of the Ukrainian war is not only a human rights issue, it is nothing short of criminality.

As to homelessness, Russia has .8 per 10,000 people; the US has 19.5 [Sources given in Wikipedia article, "List of sovereign states by homeless population". And the Russian economy is growing super-fast, with just about NO debt. US? 34.8 TRILLION dollars! There is no way this will ever be paid.

@@piotrd.4850 Poland and certain other EU countries are talking about sending Ukrainian refugees back home to be drafted. Does not sound very safe. The standard of living in the west is falling weekly. For example 18% of the UK population are in *absolute* poverty. Germany is in recession, France has been in chaos for years now. USA is suffering "imperial overreach". The west is falling. It will take several more years before this is obvious to those in other countries, but the trajectory is clear, and the politicians offer nothing to change the course. Russia's economy is growing, and its careful diplomatic efforts have earned it the respect of most non-western states. China's belt and road freight network is going to happen, and the west will most likely decide not to be part of it. If I were a Ukrainian refugee today, I would not head west.

Except for the ones who sided with the Nazi's in Ukraine, and those are the same people who brought this fight to the other people of Ukraine. The Banderists are who took over the government in the Maidan coup in 2014 (which the U.S. State Dept paid for and encouraged.) That Nazi faction in control of their government was cause that forced the Crimea region to join in favor of the Russian Federation. Then the four other regions held their referendums to join the Russian Federation. President Putin takes no joy in the killing of fellow Slavs and Orthodox Christians unlike the leaders of the West who have zero skin in the game, but as long as there's a profit to be made, a sovereign Nation to exploit and subvert, they're willing to let the Ukrainians shed their blood over it. Yeah, there's too much tragedy, and not enough compassion or respect for other cultures to exist under the Neo-Liberal Marxist paradigm they've exported around the world, and until they themselves feel the pain they'll continue to behave in this atrocious and immoral activity.

By some accounts thousands per day, which is horrific when we look beyond the numbers and technical military language that disguises the tragedies faced by hundreds of thousands of Ukranian families with the loss of husbands, children, brothers and breadwinners. Such a futile endeavor for the benefit of the thousands of criminal minds that control our governments, and without hope of any benefit to Ukraine. The original elastic defence made sense when it referred to huge tank pushes which were always hard to stop. These days that's not the case as even infantry can handle large numbers of tanks, but also any large grouping is quickly punished in this conflict. This is just a slow grinding advance that only has the aim to maintain the pressure. The Russians will always keep the gap small and are happy to let the Ukrainians charge onto their prepared defences. They really know how to taunt the ukies into pointless assaults. 😊
