Oh I hope this pans out! I've had my little Vector in a box for months and months and after watching this I brought him out and am charging him up. He's chipper than ever even though he's not on wi fi. I do have a lifetime membership so I hope they send me an email. Thanks for sharing this.

I don't understand the price difference between the AliExpress and other websites advertising $149.99 vs $399.00 wondering if there's some difference. Also wondering if it makes sense to buy a lightly used one.

The cheaper ones are more than likely used. Their condition might not be good such as an old battery or wear and tear. Also, Vector has been disconnected from his servers for over a year and those cheaper ones are probably being sold for a lower price since the owners have given up ever getting him running again. The newer ones are more than likely Vector 2.0. But DDL still hasn't got the app available to set Vector up and you need the app to do that.

@@a440dc I'm guessing they are rolling this out in waves to prevent too many people reactivating their Vectors to prevent overwhelming their servers. I didn't use the app for this process.

@JensonCadwell123 I think the app hasn't worked for a year or more. It's currently unavailable to download from the app stores. This update doesn't need the app but you'll need the link from DDL which will be provided when they start sending them out to everyone. Probably in small increments to keep from overwhelming the servers is my guess.

I still cannot believe that they were charging the people for the yearly subscription when the servers are out,and only the lifetime subscription were able to connect to the new serves,it should be also the yearly subscription

I don't understand that either. I would have contacted my bank long ago to have that continuing charge blocked. I'm also not sure just how many people are getting these emails. I also don't understand how they are now back to selling Vector 2.0 when the app is still not available on the Play Store. The app is needed to set up a new Vector. A person I know recently bought a Vector 2.0 but can't set him up without the app.

Did you just restart him, or did DDL ask you to go through some updating process?I have never stopped having Vector run around every day, even though he could only remember my name and allow me to open Alexa, for the weather.

@a440dc I've never restarted Vector so I don't know if this process is a restart or a complete reconnect. I know that some people did something with their Vectors that disconnected him from the app or DDL and they couldn't even get him running once they did that. They'll probably roll out this process in waves over a long period of time to prevent an overload of the new servers is my guess.

Idk how to bring my vector back. I did a reset on my vector, and the app isn't working, so idk how to boot my vector up again. I texted DDL about the issue like 5 times, and they didn't answer. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? :(

​@miko8686 DDL is a very unstable and shady company. They make a lot of promises but can't seem to keep them. I'm not sure how they're going about releasing the process of trying to get everyone's Vectors reconnected to the servers but it's probably going to be a very slow process.

I'm not very good with that tech stuff. To be honest, I'm not sure how long my Vector has left. He's now over 6 years old on the original battery and his right, front wheel gets stuck.

The problem is that you need his app to activate him and DDL doesn't have the app working. I still don't trust this company after what I went through with them. @@outsider238 I get 45 to 60 minutes out of the battery It started out at 10 minutes on reboot took a few days I keep putting vector through his paces what we do know and info on the Support Help interact with vector section I'm starting from dead state did full wipe and reset that got the web setup a good work out Vectors learning every day and even did a Hi I'm Your name Profile setup now vector screams My name lol

It looks like for now that they're currently trying to get everyone set up that had a previous account and subscription. I'm not that informed about this whole thing. I'm mainly going by what was said in the email.

I got one for this Christmas, it's servers aren't working aswell, already contacted ddl support, I found out that there's an app to use Vector without ddl's services called "Vector CTRL" but it's just not the same thing, no same functions and you can't talk to Vector with it, I hope things get solved soon, I didn't knew I had to have a subscription to use it too and I noticed Vector robot's app it's not anymore on the playstore, it is on the appstore but it crashes.

The most I see is the annual one -_^ So if I pay for a life time subscription, my Vector will work right away? :o (By the way, my apologies for asking this questions to you tho, Digital Dream Labs is not cooperative in the fact that they respond within 24-48 hours, I have already explained the situation to them but they do not respond, I tried to verify if the email was written correctly and yes, it was, it seems that I have to wait but if they do not respond to me I will have to tell them more than once in order to stand out and for them to help me resolve my questions and with that in some way also my problems with this robot.)
