Vermillion and Ladder interactions (Q9700 and Q9701): If the Vermillion player played the order to gain the on-hit bind effect, that would be "moving via card effect" so the units being hit will not be moved at all and will stay on the board. If the Vermillion player does not play the order and simply use the Blood's effect to attack multiple circles, and that bypass Ladder's effect and the rearguards being hit will be retired. Since the ping 1 damage effect is tied with playing the order, playing Ladder in this matchup will usually force opponent to make a decision between doing the ping or wiping the board. Preventing the bind also limits Rising Phoenix multiattacks. Since Vermillion cannot bind on attack, you must have cards like Kashin that binds your own board to trigger the Phoenix.

You never rely on Vermillion binding rears on hit for Phoenix. That's what Roughkur and Kashin are for.

Not getting the base vermillion is very unfortunate. Since he run Shenryi, I wonder is he running roughkur hammer at all. Rezael getting those defensive trigger definitely doesn't help against the rush deck as well. He is using vermillion's ping, but he was a bit passive on the rear swing, since vermillion usually attack with small power but multiple attacks. I was hoping before Vita fully active, on his persona turn, he would use all his soul and spam Phoenix, do like maybe 6-7 attacks, wind down the opponents hand. Cerrgaon build hand too easily.
@Stup1d0zz18 күн бұрын
I don't run Shenry anymore. And I recommend everyone does that.
@MH_Zard18 күн бұрын
Yeah, he should've done the max attack order on persona ride turn and swung with RGs first. Instead he's giving opponent defensives and negging because he led with Vermillion first and then ping when Rez was on low damage anyway. Couldve given triggers to the phoenixes too.
@Stup1d0zz18 күн бұрын
@@MH_Zard Again: I don't think wasting your Soul on attacking with Phoenix 2 more times, each costing only 1 card to guard for the opponent, while he has 10+ cards in hand is the right thing to do.

Good show. Pancake was getting super unlucky wuth opponent defensives and not seeing OG for soul. Plus he's not abusing phoenix enough. So many turns he could have pressured more attacks and called multiple phoenix, or using the retire buff more to help other units. He coulda called triggers or anything on that last turn and had more swings.
@Stup1d0zz18 күн бұрын
He was abusing Phoenix just the right amount.
@MH_Zard18 күн бұрын
@@Stup1d0zzHe had a solid persona ride turn which could have gone for at least 6 attacks, but he keeps leading with Vermillion on attack first and relying on damage ping and also only calling 1 phoenix when had multiple buffs to go off.
@Stup1d0zz18 күн бұрын
@@MH_Zard Leading with Vermillion's attack first is the objectively right choice in this deck, considering Spark Spike exists. Not every attack is worth spending a Soul on to call Phoenix. Especially not if that one attack only need between 5 to 15k shield to guard and your opponent has 10+ card in hand. Again: the played abused Phoenix the appropiate amount. If he got Vermillion into Soul somehow and those Phoenixes would hit for higher, maybe it would have been worth attacking more times.

thought of playing og vermillion is tempting but then you'd open another can of worms that is having to get the blood to hand. also causes you to not persona on T4 which is very bad in today's environment.

@@Stujieee96 do it the other way, play the blood as ride deck. It's better to sb1 than cb1 anyway, you only miss out the initial +5k. A lot of things going wrong for the Veemillion player. Opponent triggering like crazy, losing Vermillions to damage. The deck has a lot going for it. What's funny is that all set 6 did was give the front row another +5k Power, but that's exactly the buff it needed. Sadly, I suspect the Vermillion player on stream to have made some deck building mistakes. Mainly: playing no Roughkurs (I saw none) to make room for Shenry - a card that has no business being in the deck anymore.
@MH_Zard18 күн бұрын
Id still play Shenryi at some number. 1-2. It's great early, gives soul and digs for pieces you need. You definitely play roughcur, but kashin also fills that role so you play him in less amounts especially when you dont want too many G3s and he already loops himself when you see 1.
@SheruMuko18 күн бұрын
Strange, my build doesn’t run those yet I end matches on turn 2/3. That or my opponent is at 5 damage by then. Weird
@Stup1d0zz18 күн бұрын
@@MH_Zard Running Shenry is NOT worth cutting down on ANY other cards. Not Roughkur, not Belicosity and especially not Eternal Thunderbolt or Phoenix. Kashin is only a placeholder for Roughkur, who you'd rather use to trigger Phoenix with, because of the +1 to hand he generates, while also recalling himself next turn. You still need 3 Roughkurs to see him at least in most games by the time you reach G3.
@ryanong704917 күн бұрын
@@Stup1d0zzyou also suffer in deck building mistakes, roughkur sure is needed but shenryi is a great early game that gives pressure (forces 23k column in 8k opponent, making column "unguardable" or they'll force 20k guard turn 2) and refunds you cards + digs your pieces like roughkur and kaishin. Less copies of roughkur is also better because you already run tons of grade 3 in a deck (3-4 OG verm, 3 the blood, 3-4x order, 1x regalis + succeeding copies of roughkur) that doesn't have defensive capability so extra +5k shield like shenryi is very recommended in today's meta. Sure she's expensive but the early game advantage it gives you is undeniably strong
@Stup1d0zz17 күн бұрын
@ryanong7049 what mistakes? Playing Shenry is not worth cutting any other card in this deck. As you mentioned, there are other cards in this deck that do what she does already (but better). Not playing Shenry in Vermillion after set 6 is the opposite of a deckbuilding mistake. Shield isn't a good argument at all here. Play Defensive Roar instead of Shenry if you lack that. It is very very unlikely Shenry's 5k shield would make a difference compared to G3s you either discard, ride or shove into Soul anyways. But don't cut Roughkur. Card is definitely still needed at 2 or 3.
