From what I'm seeing, Claudia is becoming more and more evil, while Viren is just...tagging along and going with it, ig? His morals are still skewed, but his heart doesn't seem to be set on evil anymore. He even had a brief epiphany about enjoying the last month of his life, before Claudia smacked him. He just seems like a tired old man, haha

Now that Viren's grand plan to unite humanity against Xadia failed, Viren no longer has his original motivation to listen to Aavaros, and it shows. That's why Aaravos had to give him and Claudia new motivation of needing him to keep Viren alive.

season 1,2 and 3 were part of a single arc, since this is a new one you could say that season 4 works like a season 1, building up the characters two years after, their new goals, their new motivations and setting up the conflict to come, i predit season 5 will add more into it and season 6 or 7 the final conclusion, besides we dont know how much the plans for the dragon prince have changed since the animationpocalipse on netflix.

Its really surprising Claudia would be dating an elf, considering that she tells Soren how, in a long-gone age, humans were seen as lesser beings by both elves and dragons. Now Terry could have had an open mind to Claudia as a person, but since it was she who recounted the tragic history, I would've thought she still held that bias upon meeting Terry

@@scu11slayer That's what I was thinking. It furthers the theory I have that Dark Magic is just a Crutch for humans to use before being able to use primal magic. It also goes into that Dark Magic isn't magic that was made but was discovered. The Gist is Dark magic requires you to sacrifice living beings because your making a void by getting rid of the primal source they are connected to for which dark magic then fills in and then latches itself to the Host.

Aaravos may still keep his promise, whether to keep Viren and Claudia as allied pawns for a while longer or just on a whim, but even if he does, Claudia will still probably regret releasing him once his true goals become apparent.

From the way season 4 went, yeah, I think regret is going to push Viren towards the side of good and Terry is going to be the one person to either pull Claudia back or be the catalyst for Claudia crossing the line and become irredeemable, like Claudia betraying him and using his life force as a sacrifice to make her father's resurrection permanent.

Sometimes the end credits tend to add a little more to the story (at least when they're not being silly or adding certain easter eggs). If you watch them in the final episode, you see a picture of him standing tall under the influence of Dark Magic only to see other pictures of him looking progressively weaker as the effects ware off. Perhaps since he was dead two years, he's no longer use to the effects Dark Magic has on the body much like how one stops using drugs to get high. My theory though is that the more Viren uses it, the faster Claudia's resurrection spell wares off as Dark Magic slowly causes the body to deteriorate. As for Claudia, I see people saying that she'll end up sacrificing Terry if it means saving Viren but at the moment I'm not so sure. I think part of her downward spiral has to do with some of her choices being made for if not taken from her. When her parents split, Claudia was asked to choose to stay with either her mom or her dad. When she couldn't, Mom made the choice for her in an attempt to make things easier for her. The same thing happened with Soren when he could no longer stand what Viren was doing. Given the lengths she was willing to go to save Terry (cruel though they may have been), it will be interesting to see what will happen if she's put in such a position again. On an unrelated note, I was kinda wondering if Harrow would make an appearance this season. Didn't Viren swap Harrow's soul with his pet bird back in season 1?

They did say that everything Aavaros did in the past, including introducing humans to dark magic, was to continually sew chaos and hatred across the world. We just don't know why he wants to do that, or if he's just a crazy anarchist doing it for his own amusement.

Nah, Claudia just reminded him to not give up on his life that she worked and sacrificed so much on. And plus she doesn't want to lose him again. For now, I don't see any cruelty yet in Claudia. She even soften up at the end, if she was really cruel as everyone saying, she could have just ignored Terry's comment and not giving Rayla the coins and then lie to Terry later on.

The only way I see Claudia turning truly evil is that one of the hero somehow killed Terry (intentionally or by accident). Tbh, I kinda wish something like that will happen especially if it's due to some misuse of Callum or elves or dragon magic since it will put the hero in difficult/complexe situation. It will shake up the protagonists abit since for now I really find the hero kinda boring.

At first it seems Viren had a change of heart. He was ready to accept his fate and regrets his past actions. At the very end of the last episode it look like he revert to his old cruel and tyranny ways. Claudia is going down a dark path to save her loved ones. But I wouldn’t say she’s the villain. She still has redeemable qualities: ability to express guilt, gave away her dad’s “moon-shadow elves coin collection” to Rayla and her quirky traits.

She could very well disregarding his opinion or straight up gaslighting him as Viren did (to his children), but no, she *chose* to do the right thing after being called out. So far, Terry looks like to be the one who could wake her from the bad turn she's taking, as he seems to show Claudia how her actions/choices are impacting others (something that she seemed (to my opinion) oblivious until now).

My guesses are: - Viren will have a change of heart now that he faced death and his insignificance in the grand scheme of things, while Claudia will go berserk and be lost for good (it will probably be Soren who kills her, while Terry might either get killed/sacrificed at some point, or distance himself from her/ join the heroes in a desperate attempt to save her); - The one who will strike the final blow to Aaravos will be Callum, who will either learn every Primal Arcana or get his hands on a multifunctional primal stone (probably the Key of Aaravos, once" unlocked"); - Stella (Rayla's new pet, which is connected to the Stars' Arcanum) will play a role of some sort (either by unlocking the cube, helping Callum understand the Stars' Arcanum, or turning out to be one of Aaravos' minions); Overall, this season was quite underwelming, I really hope for a more solid plot management and some interesting developments (as well as a shorter window between seasons).

At the beginning, I was kinda thinking Claudia would end up like Soren after reflecting on those two years. With her father gone, she could go to Soren for help in coping and in a desperate attempt to heal their wounds. Now I can safely conclude, Claudia now sucks. I had hope for her before, but now I want to see her face when she loses everything and Aaravos is like, “I don’t care about you. You were but a mere tool. And a tool that has gone blunt.” Then he discards her like a broken toy. Or he’d keep his promises, but with a loop hole. “I never said I’d make sure Virren was happy and healthy. I said I’d keep him alive,” then continue to do something terrible and THEN discard Claudia. Now THAT’S satisfying.

I think Viren after literally dying and being resurrected is just catching up with all of his life choices. I mean you gained everything and lost it all in an instant so of course he’s gonna have doubts. That’s why for a moment he was willing to leave it all behind and be thankful for the second chance even if it was only 30 days. But Claudia is going down a very dark path… One even her father is concerned about.

I feel like the thing about Viren is he was never truly evil. He was cruel and close minded, but with his life experience, everything he was doing he believed was for a good cause. It was horrible for him to want to kill the princes, it absolutely was, he did get obsessed with power when manipulated by Aaravos and he lacked self awareness to see his actions for how selfish they truly were, but he was never coming from a place of malice for the sake of it. Sure his hatred for Xadia seems irrational, until you realise how much Xadians have taken away from him and his kingdom. They killed his best friend after all. And I feel like if Harrow didn't treat him the way he did in episode 3, he would never spiral into such obsession. But notice that both before and after, when he realised his mistake he came to fix it. Like when Harrow pointed out him being selfish and cruel to try and have someone else to sacrifice their lives for him. Viren thought about it and realised it was true, so he came to sacrifice himself instead. And in season 4 when he realised how blinded with the pursuit of power and victory he became, he immediately wanted to step back. His biggest sin is being to stubborn to listen to anyone else and it makes him commit terrible mistakes. But his heart was almost always in the right place and he was doing what he believed had to be done to protect his family and kingdom. I am absolutely shocked with how much moral and life nuance this show manages to portray, I truly have never seen any piece of media explore ethical greyness and complexity of conflict as well as this show.

But I found out something during the scene where we get a close up shot of Viren holding a coined Runaan in front of the guard, Runaan can be seen moving around while inside the coin. When Rayla has them they are not moving so maybe it’s just a thing that happens for sometime after they get coined. I think we’ll see Raylas parents getting coined in the next season mostly because I think it’s a big plot point and is too important to not mention. I think Viren coined one of her parents while the other watched before proceeding to do the same to the other parent. I have a theory that Callum will be the one to free them but it’ll end up with him being more vulnerable to Aaravos.

One question tho..... Was Claudia tricking Rayla with the coins and the stones actually cruel?? I say this because.... Rayla didn't catch the bag of stones and it was thanks to Stella's portal powers that the bag didn't fall into the lava. Now just imagine that first bag was the one with the actual coins... Claudia didn't know about that Stellar Monkey's powers so if she had throw the actual coins fully knowing that Rayla could have not catch it.... That would have been cruel. So what I'm trying to say is... The fact that Claudia didn't throw the actual coins to potentially perish in the lava (when she didn't know about the Monkey's powers) basically means that she did not risk the lives of Rayla's loved ones unnecessarily. And yes, i know that not giving the coins to Rayla during the exchange was still messed up.... But if Claudia didn't have returned them at the end then at the very least Rayla would still be certain that the coins are fine and safe.

Honestly I theorize that Viren is possessed by Aaravos and his corrupting influence through the staff. I remember when they went to Lux Aurea in the last season Aaravos referred Viren as his vessel. When Viren touched his staff his personality completely change and return back to his original self from the previous seasons. This made me think that he is possessed and used as a vessel for Aaravos. There is also the sketches in the ending credits, the first one shows Viren in his corrupted state with Claudia and the next one shows him confused and no longer in that state and then the last one shows him past out carried by Terry and Claudia. It made me think that if he holds his staff and uses it he enters his corrupted state but when he lets go of it the corruption and Aaravos influence leaves him.

Dragon Prince Theories 1. Aaravos' Guide looks like Gollum (Picture Riddles?). 2. We know the Tidebound Elves are involved in Aaravos' prison. 3. Clue to Prison Theory - Sky Archdragon: The Mirror = The Prison's appearance - Earth Archdragon: The Map = The Location of the Prison - Ocean Archdragon: The Blueprint = Entrance and features of the prison 4. There are no Star Archdragons but only Void Dragons and Star Devouring Dragons. 5. The Key of Aaravos reminds me of the One Ring (Callum couldn't drop it in the lava). 6. Viren became unconscious like Callum when he reused Dark Magic. He might go through the same mind journey Callum went through and find his primal source (Likely Star Magic?). The end credits images of Episode 9 showed Viren in his Dark Magic form, becoming exhausted, and collapsing like Callum did when he first used Dark Magic. Character Similarities to other Stories 1. This was an ok/good season overall. Claudia has always been my favourite character and this season made me love her even more. I don't think Claudia was that cruel and corrupted in this season since all she has done in this season was to save her father. Tbh, Rayla is the one who was blinded by revenge and hatred toward Viren. Claudia even tried to make a deal with her but she refused because her obsession. Unfortunately, even tho it was a good season overall, I was a bit disappointed on how they handle certain things. I don't understand why they skipped the reunion between Soren and his father after everything that happen between them in S3. I was hopping that they would have some interesting interaction/confrontation especially with way the show portrait Viren in this season. I wished they have dived more in the magic system and its moral use also since for now it's very 1 Dimensional even after knowing the things with Aaravos. And Claudia was right also about Soren, he would have been dead without dark magic. I want to like the main protagonists but for now I still find them a bit boring and lack depth. I know it's different but I prefer Aang, Toph, Katara, and sokka way way more than Ezran, Callum, and Rayla. All in all, I think this was an ok season for me and I still look forward to the next season.

Viren was going down a better path but he changed due to Cluadia's actions. He was at peace with just living with what time he had left. Cluadia messed all that up, but she acted like a loving daughter who has a deluded view of the world. In the end Cluadia started to do the right thing and Viren took up that staff and well became worse than what he was. Cluadia came to her senses so to speak thanks to her lover.

Callum will learn all the elements, fire, water, earth, moon, stars, being a counterpart of Aravos, who has all the elements, one, is an elf and another human, but with one difference, Aravos has darkness, but cellum one. human will learn light magic, callum can be affected by darkness, so he will find light by discovering a new magic, being Aravos' counterpart. That's what I thought.

She could have put an end to all the main characters who stood in her way in the cave but she didn't, she even gave Rayla what she wanted at the end ( I wouldn't have personally gave it back if I was her).

Aaravos is not pure evil. He wants to have power over everything and eliminating all threats to his power is not an issue. He uses humans due to their weakness. What brought him to that point I do not know. He has the mentality of Sauron in my opinion. Which I love, what he offers is so tempting and in his twisted view is the right thing, whatever he does is to meet his own ends.

Id argue that both the serpent and Prometheus stories had them as good. God and the greek gods wanted humanity pliable and ignorant while Prometheus and the serpent granted humanity knowledge. While it made life more complex and harder in some respects, it also elevated them and made them better.

Can't say I am enjoying Claudias character development. One minute she is a super smart, completing complex spells and the next, she is giggling about a lizard in a hat. I know this is a show targeted for children, but I really feel they have upped the cheesy-ness in the show. I am hoping that the next season delves a bit deeper and darker, as I was really disappointed with the whole season. Just didn't capture the same magic and feelings as the last seasons.

What if he controlled someone who could disguise themselves as Rayla. We know of a particular moon made elf who can do that. Stella is absolutely like the caterpillar, whispering into “Rayla”s ear. However the end of this season made me question this. If it was the moon mage and not Rayla why would she care about the coins? If she is being controlled by Aarvose why try to stop the ones helping him? To keep up the facade maybe? I just know that having a spy on the inside would be a good way for him to stay ahead of them.

Totally agree. Skipped a lot of sunfire elves scenes and managed to finish the entire season 20-30mins speedwatching. This is season is like 10-20% actual plot dragged on for 9 episodes.

The pure hate I have for Amaya and her stupid storyline is immessurable. Not did they only achived to tell a boring story in the rich world of Xadia, but also they stole screen time from Rayla and Callum. Which is the most important thing in the whole series. A lost potential. But still, on the bright side, Viren and Claudia had a great storyline while the emotional points for Rayla and Callum sticking the landing perfectly. I hope we get to see a better season 5 tho
