BE CAREFUL with extending grace, some men will take advantage of that, they are just waiting until you are weak. You can extend grace and go back to friendship level to ensure that the man is genuinely trying. A man that fears God might struggle but the Holy Spirit with get him right quickly even if he messes up.

I don’t think God would tell us to do something that hinders us from that which he calls us to. So, no. I think remaining abstinent strengthens our chances for the [right] marriage and decreases the chances of divorce/soul ties. P.S - come to the DMV 🥂💐

Bravo on this topic being handled so well.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 One thing i am finding now in black churches is an unhealthy level of promotion of singleness and infinite abstaining and very little to no promotion of covenant marriage anymore. Its a bit concerning and disturbing and goes in hand with your podcast about how pastors bank on us women feeding off messages on it. Yet why arent we getting married??? The end goal isnt singleness. No it isnt. From the beginning God said be fruitful and multiply. He says this 4X in Genesis. So marriage is a very big deal to Him. And that sounds like a command not an option or if i feel like it🤔🤔🤔. And no, it doesn't mean to some other churchy definition of "fruitful". He was referring to families and generations of marriage and children. Yet our community is avoiding marriage at alll costs. We are hiding behind catch phrases like "trauma " and "toxic" and "i'm waiting" and "looking for my purpose", and "im in my single season". Yo, seasons are only 3 months long, not 5-15years!! But we have made abstinence, like you said, a prideful altar to die on, and doing nothing to become married or a good spouse. Its becoming a bit cult like and it isnt biblical. The bible says avoid fornication and temptation. It doesnt say be single forever. The bible has very very few examples of singles. Only Paul and Jesus. Everyone else was married. And Paul yes said he wishes that the church be like him, and stay single. BUT if you cant, just get married! That was his opinion, not Gods way. The bible is full of examples of marriage being the goal AS the purpose. Esther, Ruth, Genesis, Leviticus, Numbers, Song of Solomon, on and on. Singleness isnt the purpose, fam. The goal is marriage, not infinite abstaint. God repeatedly speaks on the blessings you get by being married and for following His word. He never ever talks about the blessings of singleness. Ever. We have distorted the word completely. And the vlack community is the only population on the decline in numbers and the most broken homes. We are cursing ourselves by this endless singleness. We cannot pass on a legacy by staying unmarried. And that is exactly the enemy's goal. He knows the marriage represents the covenant he lost with the Lord and we gained instead. And thats why he attacks it so much. So lets not focus on idolizing abstinence but get to marriage.

And being abstinent does not automatically mean God blesses you. You could be in disobedience by not getting married. I used to think me being abstinent and unmarried was a good thing. Then saw Beleaf and Mrs. Melanin podcast that her abstinence came with a major ignorance of sex and nearly ruined their marriage due to her unwillingness to have sex with her own husband. I cant be abstinent but being willfully stubborn and avoiding men is not it. We black women think men will just fall from the sky and we dont have to do any work. Ruth WENT to Boaz, she didnt wait for him. We have to become renewed in the mind in this area
