Fingers crossed! Personally I'd sooner it was cold and frosty.

Unfortunately mild winter weather is usually grey, wet and windy. I think we’ve had more than enough rain recently. We need a prolonged spell of dry weather.
@paulkenney40219 күн бұрын
on;ly problem is a mild winter does keep germs and usually a late snowfall . but I do hate cold too
@fhugheveleigh28 күн бұрын
Well done. The one positive of living in the UK is that our weather is generally temperate which of course does not mean that we don't have droughts and floods and some hot days and some very cold periods but overall we are fortunate.

Nah we have more of a chance of a white Easter than white Christmas
@CurtainNotCertain123410 күн бұрын
Only when Easter happens in March.
@TheWeatherOutlookTWO10 күн бұрын
Snow is more common later in the winter as you say
@CurtainNotCertain123410 күн бұрын
@@TheWeatherOutlookTWO He didn't say that snow was more common later on in the winter. Winter isn't even in March/April.
@alunjones386010 күн бұрын
@@CurtainNotCertain1234 It depends on what you call winter. Astronomical winter runs until the spring equinox, which is in March and we often get winter weather in early spring.
@sisulart10 күн бұрын
Not next Easter we don't, it's not until late April. lol

It indicates that the weather patterns are showing a significant change to the large scale weather patterns the intense winter weather which we would experience in runs of several years at a time are becoming a thing of the past, there has not been a significant cold winter in over a decade many would welcome this but is it the effects of climate change being manifested??

Brian.. is the consistency of the Jet Stream a causal reason why we lack last for four last for eight High Pressure systems over Scandinavia these days.?
@stevewilliams933810 күн бұрын
Too much energy in the Atlantic due to global warming…so it effectively just blows it away.

Since the 1950s the pressure anomaly to the south of the UK has been rising. In other words, the Azores high pressure has been ridging more strongly into Iberia. That partly explains the trend towards milder winters in recent decades in the UK / NW Europe. When I investigated a few years ago it appears this correlates with less cold pooling in the Northern Hemisphere (I didn't look at the SH) at the 850hPa level. If you're interested I wrote a piece here: www.theweatheroutlook.com/weather-news/5594/air-mass-temperatures-since-1961

Looking milder brian that cold weather has gorn from weather modles. At the moment
@TheWeatherOutlookTWO10 күн бұрын
Not sure. I wouldn't necessarily draw that conclusion from the 2m temperature data tables I showed in the video
@SonofIberia10 күн бұрын
People are too quickly to jump into conclusions, models most of the time favour mild weather. It’s all a prediction at this time frame , we’ll see what the models show next week.

Not sure if you watched the video, but I talked about the possibility of colder weather and there was some evidence to support it.

Do you believe in climate change? When you display the 30 year average it all stays pretty much the same around the mean

Not really sure what you mean. Since I started producing these videos I'd say the ensemble mean has been above the 30 year average for significantly more time than it has been below it.
