I'm glad winter is exiting early. We had a short wet summer in Maine last year. A warm dry spring would be great!

I hope its a short winter every where. 70s today in Chicago. 74 on Monday. I'd like to get started on my yard, but like you I need to wait for spring rains to pass or else my plants will be floating on lake Winnick. I think this year after years of complaining to the Village from my neighbors about their yards flooding (me i dont care, less to mow..haha) we are getting French drains.
@HanbleceyaRanch10 ай бұрын
Hi! We have Lake Hanbleceya! Last year our garden plants all had little floaties on so they wouldn’t drown! 🤣 We also plan on putting in French drains around the cabins! Have a great day!!

Gotta love “ The county “ ! Like I said welcome to The Great State of Maine ! Although we’re definitely lower in the state we always get the lions share of snow here ! Still over a foot average here despite those same temps here. Diverting water is always an issue but the efforts definitely pay off for reasons only we know ! lol. Hope all is well

“The County” is a special place!! We truly love it here! This year has been a mild snow year. Hoping our summer isn’t as wet as it was last year!! Take care!

Thanks for another great video J - the land is looking good! I'm thinking the winter may be a wrap and I'm excited about it. The thought of getting outdoor stuff done in March seems like a gift! I had one of those metal-framed tent canopies and it caved in the second winter. Of course me not always being diligent to rake it after every storm could possibly have contributed to its demise.
@HanbleceyaRanch10 ай бұрын
Appreciate that!👍 It would be nice if winter was a wrap but we are not counting on it!! Would love to be able to do outside stuff without being bundled up!! The canopy surprisingly has lasted but we had gotten a second one that didn’t last a week before the high winds took it and destroy it!!😔

As we say in Maine...."If you don't like the weather in Maine, just wait 10 minutes...it'll change." Yeah....I know exactly what you're talking about here....I was out about midnight and it was like 45 degrees, nice and warm. I went to bed and woke up and it was friggin' white out and cold. WTF??

Hi Jason n Jen, Wow more snow? Warmer temps sure does set in a smiling mode though huh? Lol Question,,,,what if you never graded the whole yard and just graded the paths to all your buildings and work spaces, would you get less ice? I mean when you grade/plow/push snow, aren’t you packing down the bottom layer which causes a thick sheet of ice? That just makes sense to me for some reason 🤔 But what do I know about Maine, right? 😂 The water running down through the creek was so pretty. Be perfect for picture taking of you guys, well you sit first Jason and if you don’t slide in then it’s safe for you Jen 😂😂😂. Anyways, I love it! Ewww,,,I hope the storm passed with no damage. You go to work at 4am Jason? Look like you was handling that icy road pretty good! Hey you guys stay safe, warm and God Bless ❤
@HanbleceyaRanch10 ай бұрын
Hi Pam!👋 Yes, more snow but as I type this, it is now pouring rain and most of the snow is gone again! 😔Temps are gonna be warmer for the next week and yes it feels good to get out of the cabin without layers of clothes!! 😊We move the snow out of the yard for two reasons…1. To make room to get around. Never know how much snow we will get so we need to move it so there is room for the next snowfall. 2. When it starts to melt we don’t want it draining around the cabin. Our first year here we ran out of space and mud season was horrible!! I love the idea of Jason testing out the creek for me!🤣 Jason does handle the icy road quite well. I stay in the cabin!!😂 Take care and God bless! ♥️🙏♥️ Hope you are having a great weekend!!

If I understood you correctly you have a very long driveway (3 miles) and part of it is just dirt road and then I guess the rest is gravel. Am I correct??
@HanbleceyaRanch10 ай бұрын
We live off of a mile and a half of unmaintained road. It is a dirt/some gravel road. We paid to put gravel on part of the road because it would get flooded out. The rest of the road had gravel at one time but has slowly been washing away.

Also do you know a realtor you can recommend? Sorry for the lengthy comment but your situation sounds so much like ours that I trust your opinion:) thanks for all the fantastic videos!
