Features No Mercy had that this game doesn’t. The gameplay is virtually the same: -Story Mode -Ladder Match -Special Guest Referee -Backstage Fighting No Mercy did lack full entrances though.

2000/VPW2 was not only the harder game but the first game to have stat system. if you go to edit for the characters you can see the stats for each wrestler, and there strengthens and weaknesses. NM beats it in terms of match types and what you can do in it, but when it comes to difficulty you didn't wanna get caught slacking 2000. In road to WrestleMania mode ill pray for you dawg against mankind in a cage match. you'll know when you get to it

Lovely to see someone playing WM2000. I feel this one gets lost in the shuffle of all the AKI games since it came out after the most popular at the time, REVENGE and before one of the best in NO MERCY. I own all of them to this day and still replay them but I find myself coming back to this one the most. For me, it has the right amount of features and presentation whilst maintaining its difficulty and gameplay speed.

How to win on hard difficulty -Start off with weak A grapples (if your opponent has more momentum they will get attitude instead from weak A grapples -Quickly move on to weak B grapples you need to do these most of the match -use back grapples these always do more damage than weak B grapples but have just as high probability of successfully performing it (grapple and press L to move behind opponent) -once you have done a lot of damage try to start doing strong grapples dont try strong grapples if your opponent has high attitude as they have a higher chance to reverse -if your opponent has high attitude do weak A grapples as these cannot be reversed and also try to taunt whenever u can and go for weak B grapples too unless the opponent has very high attitude -If the wrestler ur using has high flying attack try to go for flying attacks once ur also able to do strong grapples without getting reversed move towards the turnbuckle and press down c to climb it hold down c to wait on the turnbuckle hold R to come down the turnbuckle and analog stick to taunt on the turnbuckle -dont bother doing strong grapple irish whips as on hard difficulty they will almost always be reversed there is no point You can throw your opponent out the ring and taunt to get attitude this is very cheesy to do you need to strong grapple walk towards ropes and press down c -Use a lot of submissions the easiest way to win a match is by targeting one body part so the best wrestlers are the ones with expert submission skill doing just 4 submissions on same body part is enough to make them tap out and using as much submissions as u can is good in general as it will get you a lot of attitude and the opponent will lose a lot of attitude -the more damaged you are the faster u get attitude same with the opponent -do strong grapples only when your opponent is stunned as you have a higher chance of doing it successfully and more importantly just to be safe if ur going to do a strong grapple it woukd be best to do a weak B grapple first then pick the opponent up and do a strong grapple this is just a safe strategy not needed - most importantly be good at reversing all this doesnt matter if u cant reverse When ur getting up hold R to duck when ducking you can do a ducking attack like a low blow like the rock did to u using B or u can do a ducking grapple using A while holding R You can also reverse initial grapples by pressing A instead of L this eill make you go behind the opponent although the timing is more strict And dont even attempt running attacks until ur able to do strong grapples Taunting when ur opponent is laying down will make the opponent get up in a stunned state Press A and B at the same time to steal opponents finisher The more damaged the opponent is the longer the submission will be And a good strategy is to taunt a little at the start of the match as just having slightly higher momentum is a big adventage Holding a body part means that one submission to that body part and the match is over

This is kind of the red headed step child of the AKI games. When I'm in the mood to play one of these I go with either Revenge or No Mercy. It's either, I want WCW or I go with the best of the WWF games. I love this game, but it's this weird in between thing where it tends to get lost in the shuffle. It's kind of like, World Tour was a great game for its time...but why would I play that when I can play Revenge?
