I'm 52 years old and have many years experience in retail business. Raising the price on goods will never increase business...it will stagnant. Having Sales, Bundle deals, and superior customer service are the foundation to gain happy and satisfied customers.

In my opinion, it's been pretty clear for a while that MS is winding down on the console business from multiple angles. This reduction in marketing budgets is particularly interesting since now you can clearly see the money is being drained from that side of the business. Of course they still want to keep people around for as long as possible, still, but they don't want to invest more in the console itself.

Xbox already has very little advertising in Europe and the UK, football (soccer) is sponsored by PlayStation. Massive billboards go up for big PlayStation games GoW and Spiderman, buses are covered in PlayStation adverts too. Maybe if Xbox actually advertised on popular things F1, football etc they’d get some more sales? PlayStation dominates in Europe because it can be seen everywhere you look.

If I had to take a wild guess. I think the next Xbox will be more of an open platform PC. Xbox library will carry over via the Xbox PC platform. This will also give access to the blizzard launcher, so you can play WoW. You'll also get access to steam, and you'll be able to play PlayStation games there. They'll have to make it enticing to purchase the Xbox PC vs a competitors PC etc etc etc.

It just means they have not optimised the game to have settings for deck. All are still completely playable, but at lowest graphics. The steam deck verification signifies that valve has checked it works and is a good experience on the deck.

the big difference between PlayStation plus extra and game pass is a huge factor. Game pass is like Netflix, they add games and they remove games. When they remove games on game pass , they are gone just like Netflix movies are gone. On PlayStation plus, every month when they put games in the subscription service, you simply add them to your library. Then even if you cancel your PlayStation plus subscription for three months or more, the same games that you added in your library will stay in your library, no matter what for years. They don’t remove games from PlayStation plus like they do on Xbox. That’s why I have over 900 digital games stored in the cloud. Maybe that’s why you pay extra for the cloud service on PlayStation but it’s damn well worth it. you don’t get to keep any of those games on game pass unless you buy them , PlayStation you don’t have to buy those games, simply Add them to your library and they stay there for years. They don’t remove them from PlayStation plus.

As someone from the netherlands I have to say I don’t think this is changing a lot. I (almost) never see any marketing from xbox here. But I do see a lot of playstation. They sponsor every major football (soccer) tournament and have a few tv adds. But xbox is almost invisible. I really hope that xbox will push the brand to the casual audience. I don’t care if it’s xbox or gamepass but just get some recognition in europe. If I talk with my friends about gaming then gaming is almost a synonym of playstation and I really hope that will change. Gamepass is amazing. Even with the price increase it’s still amazing value. And to be honest, after the abk acquisition we all knew the increase was going to happen. If xbox upps there marketing and delivers some amazing games (8 and above) then hopefulle we will get some more competition overhere.

We console players like to think we have the majority and the loudest of the voices. This is further exacerbated by the echo chambers we interact with on chats like discord or KZbin. The reality is that the majority of the population, mostly outside the US or UK, play on mobile phones or a PC. Ignoring this market is a loosing strategy in the long run and through the viewpoint of a corporate company. Although you might hate the move, Microsoft is looking at the bigger picture. Xbox presence in Europe has been on a steady decline since the Xbox One, I'm not surprised by this. Japan doesn't want Xbox, now Europe doesn't. But yet they're releasing three new skus for consoles, so which is it Microsoft?

I own all three eco systems and enjoy them for what they are but it does seem Microsofts is the less appealing to a lot of consumers, especially when you have two countries that don't want your product.

Now this 👆🏾 is the most accurate comment yet!! I been subscriber to Gamepass Ultimate from the beginning didn't do any deals, didn't subscribe and unsubscribe. From the tiers it obvious it's aimed at the freeloaders. Ultimate didn't change just went up a few dollars.

If Xbox is pulling back on console advertising, and doing more advertising on the fact can play Xbox games on Samsung tv and Amazon fire sticks. The advertising plan has gone towards cloud gaming to try getting more people to try it. As Xbox I think want to try and make that bigger. Plus it is also to try and get the people who did not buy a Xbox console over a PS5 into the Xbox echo system, buy saying you don't need to spend hundreds up front to try out are games. They only need to advertise a console more if a new gen one comes out.

With the Game Pass price increase, I’ve come to the realization that I’m better off going to the mid tier option. Won’t get day one releases but that is fine. Microsoft loses about $10 a month from me.

The problem is Xbox invested in a subscription service instead of hardware and game sold service. Like at Apple they sale of these apps, games , if you make Xbox and just make that 30/70 which is how Apple makes all there money. If Xbox would had relied on the same graph as Sony apple Nintendo then they might not be in so much trouble with gamepass not growing. When people get free games from a service it cuts off the money your making from games you would have made from the store which if it was a Xbox game they made 100% instead of any other game company that released there games were Xbox got 30/70

Yeah definitely time to switch to PC. I have a couple games I play. That's it. Purchased disc and digital. The way this is starting to look, everything will be Game Pass and these two games I will have to wait for them to go on because this company needs to have control over consumers. I love my Xbox. Does what I need it to do and I'm not against Game Pass. It IS a good deal for most. With PC, I get my two games and won't even have to pay for multiplayer. I don't know. Xbox needs to figure out what the hell they're doing and being a little more transparent.

Why do you and ithers report on a rumor he heard as news..... he even said its not confirmed at all..and Xbox lies again in the ad as they say yiu dont need and xbox and just need a firestick 4k....No mention about needing a controller....and the ad also she doesnt have xbox...but has an xbox controller just sitting there...
