It is a very correct holistic approach of explaination. Yes. What has form as plague takes decades of years of bad lifestyle. Reversal takes a long time as well. No.1 reversal is step on preventing inflammation: cut away all sugars and refined carbs definitely a must

Can you discuss the mediterranean diet that everyone is raving about?
@YOGABODY.Official
@YOGABODY.Official 11 ай бұрын
The Mediterranean Diet is not really about the Med (I live on the Med, literally), but the basic idea is that olive oil is the staple oil, lean meats that are low in saturated fat are the main source of protein (fish / seafood) and a focus on fiber rich foods. To be honest, it's a great approach - but there are a dozen other approaches that can also work. Even the boring food pyramid we (including me) complain about, if it was made up of truly whole foods, could work too. I'm as guilty of this as anyone, but diet tribe thing misses the point that essentially hyper-palatable, zero satiety foods that are calorie dense and nutrient poor are the problem. Hope that helps!

As referenced in the video, high glycemic diet for sure plays a role, but there are multiple ways to create a poor lipid profile although that is certainly a big one.

@@YOGABODY.Official all excess triglycierides come from excess carbs intake when at the same time gut microbiom is in disorder.. high fat diet with low sugar never increases triglycerides, but increases LDL, HDL, and decreases VLDL. Thuse ApoB is not indicative.

@@monnoo8221 In nutrition, multiple things are often true at once. Triglycerides are very important, and yes, and one key aspect of metabolic health. It's an interesting experiment to ignore LDL/ApoB particles and focus only on other aspects of metabolic health, but based on decades of data, it's a risky experiment. In my research, the most conservative approach to heart health would be to address (or attempt to) all the established risk factors for cardiovascular health: BP, Tri's, ApoB, weight, A1C.
@monnoo8221

@@YOGABODY.Official we are, firstly, not talking about nutrition, primarily, but about the usefulness of an indicator. When it comes to nutrition, it is very clear tht excess carbs... which starts around 160+-40 for an average person, non-pro athlete, cause excess triglycerides. There is no "alternative truth". But yes, if you consume high sugar with hugh saturated fat, it is even worse. Regarding apoB: it is a bad indicator, since the physiology does not support the claim. ApoB is present on normal LDL and oxidised VLDL. Oxidation is caused by what? sugar! and a lack of glutathione. The latter drops in aged people, but can easily be restored. Sugar oxidises Hb, as measured by A1c, all the LPs, and the endothelium. A1c is a proxy marker, as long as we can not measure the oxLDL, oxVLDL directly. It has been shown, that HDL helps extract damaged oxLDL, hence is protective, meaning: if the HDL is high, say>80 the A1c loses its predictive power. In a low carb diet, or habits that burn carbs sufficiently, thereby avoiding gluc spikes, there is much less oxidation, but a high LDL, high ApoB: and those then in this context have littlepredictive power. Combine it with a good Glutathione state, and you end up with 0 predictive power of the apoB test.

Hi Lucas! well in my case it's hereditary! like everyone in my Dad's family line has high cholesterol! including me... ApoB test i haven't done yet, let me check....if it's genetics, do the numbers do really mean the same for everybody...eg- my 263 mg/dl - total cholesterol may be high on paper but may not be that detrimental for me! what's your take?
@YOGABODY.Official
@YOGABODY.Official Жыл бұрын
Genetics can definitely play a role in cholesterol levels, but it's still important to keep an eye on your numbers. High cholesterol can increase your risk for heart disease and stroke, so it's important to work with your doctor to manage it. YOGABODY recommends making lifestyle changes like eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and managing stress.

Your videos are fantastic and well thought out. I'd just wish KZbin didn't give me ads that's clearly not in good faith, with things like "how you REALLY build muscle quicky".... Please go away... I'm not sure how much you can do about it, but it sadly exposes people to potential fraud when watching your videos.

@@YOGABODY.Official I agree. But if doctors told the truth about diet and heart disease and if scientists told the truth about resources pollution and factory farming the environment would be much better and 90% of cardiovascular disease could be prevented. Eating terrible for year heart and getting a test would be like driving your car into trees and then taking to body shop to make sure everything is good. Of course it’s not.
