I use my machine several times per day from my big morning mug to some espressos during the day, so I find running a cleaning cycle with water daily when done with the machine will give the best result the next day.

At 3:02 you say hold the start button for 3sec, but at 3:26 you tap the start button 3 times, tapping the button 3 times is the correct way of cleaning the vertuoplus. So I assume you misspoke when you said "hold" the button for 3 sec?

Yes, it’s press it 3x quickly not hold for 3 sec..😬

I just cleaned my Vertuo plus on Friday and today the coffee tastes and smells terrible. I notice coffee puddling up around the outside of the capsule brewing holder, as well. I'm not sure what's happening.

Hi! I just got the Vertuo plus on Christmas. The first couple cups were absolutely perfect! But now, the crema taste a little strange. I’ve done two full cycles hoping that would fix the problem but no luck. It’s only the crema garaging strange. If I scope it out, the coffee does not taste funny. Have you or anyone ran into this issue ?

Congrats on getting a Nespresso. Hmm the crema does tend to taste a bit bitter, are you using the same capsule or different ones? Have you tried mixing the crema into the coffee? I do scoop it off some coffee that I don’t like the way it taste. Depending on the capsule you use some crema may taste better than others.

Use a spoon to mix the crema into the coffee and let it settls

I just use a damp clothes or paper towel to wipe it down.

You can try removing the crema(foam), sometimes that make it taste bitter. Could also be your taste buds are not use to the Nespresso coffee and make take time to adjust.

I prefer vinegar than chemical cleaner, I mix vinegar and pure water, done it for few years on my original Nespresso and no issue so far.

This is just a cleaning cycle with water from machine. You don’t add chemicals or vinegar, it’s just a flush of the system.

@@suzyq6406 I usually do a cup of vinegar then add water, you just want to do that when going through a descaling option not cleaning cycle, I also run water when descaling finished

Medalavi, thank you very much. I have run the cleaning cycle just using water. When it is time for me to descale I am going to try the vinegar. Just so I understand, I use a cup of vinegar and fill the rest of of the tank with water, or a cup of straight vinegar, run it with no water, and when done, run a water cycle. I am guessing option one, as I am thinking straight vinegar would be too acidic. Thank you.

You can trying resetting the machine. It should be in the manual how to do it.

I’m not sure if Nespresso descaling kit has a special ingredient vs other brands. Probably best to contact Nespresso customer service. You can send them a msg over FB and they can help you.
