Unironically Slither Wing was a major player in my Scarlet girlypop team. Her redeeming feature is the avant-garde wings and fluffy sweater combo. I put in the effort to get her shiny and her color coordination was just perfect. She was definitely mothering my team being the first one out for every fight, ready to put herself in between danger and the littles.

This is such an interesting type because as you mentioned the Pokemon can lean too far into manlypop or as I like to call it a shonen protagonist moment (i.e Lucario, infernape), but if they're able to be bold and elegant we really get some gems like mega lopunny, medicham, gallade, mienshao!

The AMOUNT of Mothers in the Fighting type is actually so iconic and SO many of my faves got their flowers: Breloom is a personal fave and I'm SO HAPPY it got mother cuz it's SO cute to me, I got to try out Mienshao in Gen 9 and......she IS an icon and pioneer of her typing, and finally, Bewear DESERVED Mother because she is the ultimate defintion of being SO cute that it ACTUALLY can kill you, and that's icon behavior.

Gallade is my favorite pokemon and I LOVE how you described him. To me, Gallade is the most transmasc pokemon. It starts as the cutesy Ralts and then the feminine Kirlia, but if you give it a special item (dawn sone = testosterone) it can evolve into what it was inside all along- a powerful yet graceful knight.
