This video is super helpful! Do you have any recommendations for someone to get a job with a work and holiday visa? It seems a lot more common to get a bartending, barista or retail job... I would love to get a job that is more aligned with my career path but am afraid it might be difficult since it's required to switch employers after 6 months.

Hi Maddie! It is true that the conditions of the WH visa can be a limitation when it comes to getting a professional job, but don't let that stop you, and please give it a try. I know several people who've come on the WH visa and were able to get a job in their field (one of my latest videos is about that, drawing on my experience). Others start by getting an admin-related role and then they work their way up (using that local experience as well as references). There're also many professional jobs out there offering 3 to 6-month contracts - the most important thing is to get your foot in the door and gain local experience. Try to network with recruiters via Linkedin and recruitment agencies too! And last tip: during your job search, try not to focus so much on the position title, but focus on transferable skills (there're many professional jobs out there that probably don't necessarily align with your field/industry, but that could be requiring the skills you have - that's another option too that could help you get a foot in the door).

Hi :) It sounds like the best person/sources who can answer these visa-related questions is a registered migration agents or the Department of Home Affairs website. You can find MARA registered migration agents here portal.mara.gov.au/search-the-register-of-migration-agents/ (never accept visas-related advice from non-registered persons). Wishing you all the best :)

We always need fruit pickers, if you can tend a bar or do waitressing then you are in. We need you. Basically anything hospitality related. We need you. Our tourism industry is crying out for experienced people or experienced tradespeople.

You can start working at 15 and quit when you like. Obviously it would be harder to start a new job when you are older as employers might get picky about your age

@Alpha_7227 Жыл бұрын
@@loooleo4856 i mean usually in Australia people are so conservative and are unwilling to invest unless the idea is so brilliant. There has been so many cases where people have gone O/S and had their idea picked up largely because of larger populations and richer people who are willing to invest. Please come because we need bright creative people.

Be very careful. If you embark on this misadventure, you will soon find out on arrival, that you are not needed! Do some research.
