I work in a lab that makes superconducting magnets. You have nothing to worry about. We have guys who've worked around equipment putting out extremely high EMF levels (in and out of levels around 20,000 Gauss) for literally 50 years and they're doing just fine. Whenever you have a wire running electricity it generates an EMF field around the wire proportional to the current. Look up Maxwell's laws, I learned it in Physics 1 Freshman year in College. "The International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) recommends 200 mT for continuous exposure. That's 2,000 Gauss." Think about people who work around gigantic power transformers or power stations, they are getting insane levels of EMF every day and living life just fine. An MRI machine's EMF levels on a patient are typically measured in the range of 5,000 to 30,000 gauss.

Sigh. Those detectors are worthless. This is what happens when people have not even the remotest clue about EM radiation. Just to point out, regular sunlight is also EM radiation. And is tens of thousands, even a million times more energetic than anything you were measuring. That detector is only measuring low and mid-frequency EMF and just because someone programmed something to light up above a low level doesn't translate to real danger. It's mainly set-up to do that just to alert you to a live power line nearby. And, no. None of those readings are not even remotely dangerous. It comes down to a combination of power, frequency, and whether the radiation is ionizing or not. Power levels only matter at extreme magnitudes (putting your ear next to megawatts of AC) where the EMF can cause other types of damage (generate actually significant voltage potentials inside the body). Otherwise, low frequencies do buckus. The induced voltages are far lower than the voltages your brain and nervous system produce just on their own. Nothing you measured was ionizing. The EMF literally has no ability to effect atoms beyond wiggling them around a little (transfering a few microwatts of heat into your body). That's it. Heat from ambient air alone has a million times more of an effect. Anything in the 2 GHz+ range or higher (up until it becomes ionizing well above the regular sunlight spectrum in the billions of gigaherz) won't even penetrate the outer layer of your skin, let alone your skull or anything else. Nobody gets brain cancer from cell phones, just badly designed or fallacious studies multiplied by nut cases impressing government officials with zero education. Power line frequencies are so low it almost doesn't matter except at extreme power levels (where they cause other effects related to voltage sloshing potentials). And EMF from microcontrollers and switching power supplies (e.g. power stations) don't radiate even remotely enough power to matter either. Are there things you should care about? Yes: * High tension power lines (tens of thousands to a million volts) can radiation enormous amounts of energy. You don't want to live under one. * I don't use 5G's beam-forming microwave (ultra high speed data transmission) mode. Beamed radiation doesn't follow the normal distance-attenuation equation (where intensity falls off by the square of the distance from the source). So that can put a lot of energy in one spot far away. No thanks. That's it. That's all you have to worry about as a regular lay-person. None of this stuff is going to give you cancer or anything close to it. -Matt

So I enjoy what you guys do. However there is a very key thing missing from the video. What do these numbers mean? I work in many places that use 3 phase power and large transformers. I also use ham radios with some frequency. For me the harm is the heat buildup in those areas. 2nd, his is nearly all guaranteed to be nonionizing radiation. coulombs is a measure of static electricity (mC on your meter) and as far as I have seen tends to not be associated with EMF or Volts per meter and sometimes even with gauss. Next time you do a video like this I would respectfully ask for a little bit more scientific work. Though continue the great systems and solar work that you currently do!

All UL listed electronics are required to pass EMC certifications (called Electro-magnetic compatibility), which puts limits on EMI (Electro-magnetic Inteference) and EMF (general electro-magnetic radiation). So, for example, cell phones, pads, microwaves... anything made by a large company will be UL listed. Most of the devices you buy on Amazon that are not made by large companies generally don't pass these certifications... they emit a lot of RF noise. For example, those little power supplies you buy on Amazon tend to generate a lot of EMF noise. Most power stations as well. But its just noise... it isn't harmful. These guidelines are essentially designed to prevent interference between devices, because devices are far more sensitive to EMI than humans are. For a device, it only takes tens of millivolts of induced potentials to cause a microcontroller to crash, for example. And of course WIFI and Bluetooth devices can't transmit data very fast if their RF bands are full of noise. Audio gear is also quite sensitive to EMF/EMI which leads to a whole segment of the economy devoted to RF filtering for power strips and such. A good example that you might be interested in would be something like a FURMAN power strip. Insofar as a human goes, none of this matters. Zero effect. Humans aren't sensitive to microwatt or low-milliwatt amounts of interference. The power density is many orders of manigtude lower than anything that could possibly hurt a person. -Matt

It's the high frequency EMF design of these cheap inverters that's harming you. That's why a low frequency inverter makes a better option. high-frequency EMF is considered more potentially dangerous than low-frequency EMF because higher frequencies carry more energy and can potentially damage cells and DNA more readily, especially when exposure levels are high; this is why radiation like X-rays and gamma rays, which are high-frequency forms of EMF, are considered ionizing and can be harmful to living tissue.

@KillerRaptorr22 күн бұрын
O.o??????????? When you started doing power stations. Your test readings went 'flop'. Cause you kept pushing the meter right on power cables. As you mentioned those have the highest rating. Jackery for one you kept it RIGHT on the AC plug and right near the AC inverter's transformer. So your readings are incorrect in those area's. Plus from looks of it. All the readings you were doing to the stations were all running AC out. Even the Ecoflow you said was doing nothing. It showed over 1400watts output AC and a AC cable running out. The AC inverter on it was probably farther away from inside the house, why it was probably lower also. A good book to know. Anything with a 'Transformer' inside it IE like a Microwave or Power stations. That'll give off quite amount of EMF. Because it's Converting it to AC current. It's basically a magnet and that's what EMF are reading in a sense. Another thing that you kinda got right and wrong. Is When you went to your home solar input box putting the EMF on the thick DC battery leads. That is a no brainer. Large ampage from a low voltage device is gonna send MASSIVE amount of power through it. But on Power Stations if you use just 12 volt (Internal battery) to 12volts or 5volts. That power EMF will drop 90% Cause you're using lower ampage in those thinner cables. So no it's not really 'Bad' for a Solar/Power Station Generator to be near you. Unless you use AC inverter. Then you'll wanna give it some space. But most time to keep low loss on power. Your gear is gonna stick roughly to 12volts and 5volts primary. You won't really run 120volt devices. To reduce the battery amount loss from the 12volt DC to 120 volt AC pure sinewave conversion. That most will loose around 15-10% of battery cap. Compared to 12volts or 5volts that you don't really loose any battery %.
