This guy is a beast. He has a great chin, awesome power and fight him in the middle of the ring and will maul you. I am also super impressed with his work rate. He must work very hard to maintain that level throughout the rounds. I salute you hermano.

Gamboa needs to get his head checked. He's been knocked out too many times in a short amount of time and with this fight I feel like he's showing signs of either a detached retina or mild CTE. There are times in the three most recent fights where Gamboa is looking really good slipping really fast punches and other times he's getting lit up with telegraphed punches especially when it comes to overhand lefts and mid ranged left hooks (assuming his issue is a detached retina on his right eye could explain why he keeps getting clipped from his right peripherals).

Gamboa has lost his shine ever since he fought Bud Crawford. Then comes gervonta, and then shakur. The reason that Gamboa is taking on the better competition is because he is a durable get in your face type of fighter who won't quit, no matter how many times he gets clipped and knocked down, he'll still get up and fight you. But he's getting hit too many times and that can result to a health or a life situation. I applaud Gamboa for his do or die attitude in the ring. Most fighters feel they are invincible to climb in that square jungle and thinking they are going to come out okay after the beating they give each other. To most fans, they like brawling boxing, because they think it's more exciting. I like scientific boxing where you can see that a boxer has skills in the ring. A skilled boxer will always come out on top against a brawl boxer, but if a skilled boxer doesn't learn to play dirty back like the brawl boxer is doing, then I'd say, that the brawl boxer will win.
