Usually I keep an audio-book on to fall asleep to. NOT your books. I save them for when I'll not miss a thing, lol and use another audio-book to fall asleep to. I just love your characters and story lines. Thank you for keeping graphic sex out of your books. There's no need for it and it's nice to know I can garden and not shock the neighbors. :)

Hettie! What a gem! I laughed out loud at the stuff she said in the park. Great addition to add her to this absolutely captivating story. I'm curious to see how getting to know Cecilia better in the next book will give me an opportunity to start liking her, because she is a brat in this book.

"The heart has reasons, reason does not know." Oh my, how true. Love is but a madness. Poor Lord Brockway. He must have suffered hearing this bit by Mozart in the drawing rooms of London. Elizabeth sang it to Mr. Darcy. "Fair dame or maiden, none else may know My heart o'erladen, why is this so? What is this yearning, these trembling fears Rapturous burning, melting in tears? You who have tasted love's mystic spell What is this sorrow naught can dispel? What is this sorrow naught can dispel?"

Why is it that Bridgerton novels are so popular and were turned into a TV show when there are far superior novels like these in the world?! Yours are just as entertaining, but the stories, writing, characters are just better in every way. I think they would make excellent movies, too. Onto the next!

The narrator was far too fast for my savoring of each moment. I really enjoy Stevie Zimmerman's narration far much more. She really transports you into the feel of each interaction. I will buy the book and read it instead because the story is so interesting and I don't want to rush through it

While the reader excellent at voice acting the dialogue, the bits in between, the narrator, is very hard to listen to. It sounds extremely affected. I bet she'd be an amazing reader if she can make the narrator sound a little less like a pompous school ma'am. SophiAH, CeciliAH, advAHntage, one anahtha, notice hah (her), lahve, hahnd, ideah. Addicted to your humour. Thank you for making these books available.❤

I’m curious. What does “plain” mean? Your gentleman are mostly handsome. But your stories constantly refer to women who aren’t beauties, as plain, although there are many layers in between. What about pretty? Or attractive?
@AuthorMarthaKeyes Жыл бұрын
For me, this has more to do with self-perception than reality. As women, we often struggle to see ourselves as anything but less than what we would like. I relate to heroines who feel this way, personally. But certainly not all of my heroines are described as plain 🤍

@@AuthorMarthaKeyesso what was Isabel? Her father, and Charles noted she was “ the plain one”.

Isabel is very confused. Will she ever stop overthinking. Her mind is juggling ping pong balls. 😢

Unfortunately, 'romance' usually means some one or two characters need to be ridiculously blotto to reality. I'd like a normal romance not centered on tomfoolery. There should only be 1 massively stupid overthink per character. But then, this particular story is miles above some of the offerings available. Perhaps comedic misunderstanding and too little lighting would be better. Worked for Shakespeare. However, until we write our own book, we can not armchair quarterback the success of others.

I have a theory that most romance novels will be mere short stories if it wasn't for the eternal internal monologues, the same reasoning which gets repeated over and over, confusion and miscommunication.
