I had the privilege to briefly meet her in March 1999, in Marseille airport !! Earlier that day she was signing her book "Quelque chose de moi" (french edition of her book) at the Marseille FNAC, and I was not able to be there and I was sooooo sad to have missed her !! But later I suddenly saw her walking (with two persons if my memory serves me well, maybe her agent and an assistant or a friend don't know exactly) in the airport hall, in the middle, with around us all the people preparing for their flights or waiting for someone, who weren't paying attention to her !!!! I could not believe it !!! My cinema idol, a star, appearing like that !!! :) So I ran to her and said I was a french fan (in english first but one of the ladies who were accompanying her reminded me she speaks french LOL), and she was very nice and smiling, and later, I met her again in the same place but just before she took her plane, so I took a piece of paper (actually first blank page of an Arthur Schnitzler collection book I had with me !) and asked her if she could sign it because "otherwise no one at home will believe me !" (remember at the time, there were no Smartphones, selfies etc. !!) She did sign it, and then she took her plane and not too long after that I took mine and it was MAGIC !!!! I will never forget that day, and I always kept that autograph, like a good luck charm !! MERCI Isabella Rossellini and God bless you :)

Isabella shows all of us how rich life can be. Just look at how many different careers she has had over her lifetime. Then as a senior to go back for a Master's Degree, and now a farmer and scientist of animal behavior, making documentaries? What a fascinating person.

Isabella connects with so many of us, because she was already an adult and wasn't relying on her parents' achievements. She was dynamic and interesting then as she is now. I never thought she used her obvious beauty throughout her career. The older she gets, she is even more intriguing. We should all be so blessed. Believe it are not, I haven't seen Blue Velvet yet. I will indulge.
