Such nice words, very well said! I always liked dolls and toys and things like that. I was already 14 when the monster high dolls came out and honestly, I thought they were the most beautiful dolls the earth had ever seen. I was so ashamed to buy one but I was lucky enough to have a mother who never rushed me or tried to change me in any way so I bought one. It was the last one though because I was scared and for the past few years I thought I was over it. I'm 22 now and rediscovering my love for dolls, so this comment means really much to me. Thank you! 💕

Me too. I played dolls and beanie babies with my lil sister and cousins all the time. We made lil homes and stores and make believe places for them to play. So much fun 😭💖
@hydreg4 жыл бұрын
Okay, some vinyl toy collector wisdom: 1) Plastic boxes alone don't prevent mold, you need to use silica gel packets 2) Boil moldy fabrics and plastic for a few seconds to disinfect it, otherwise your dolls may develop "vinyl cancer" spots 3) Those curtains inside boxes could seriously damage your dolls if stored for a prolonged periods of time (dirt accumulates on them and transfers onto vinyl, leaving patterns mimicking those on the curtains), it's better to straight up bag each doll in zip bag with silica packet inside and separate them with fleece, sponge or packing peanuts inside the boxes. Replace the bags perdiodically though (every couple of years). 4) Each doll should be packed separatelly, without any accessories on to prevent plastic crosscontamination (plastics WILL melt into each other over time)
@alyssia72393 жыл бұрын
Archivist here (I know I'm late) : We are taught to never store plastic in hermetic containers for long term storage. The plastic need to breathe or it autodestroys itself. I don't know how this applies to dolls but it is valid for film and any old image and video support. (They become sticky and illegible)

You have a beautiful very valuable collection! You must be proud! I love the Teen Bratz, they are so pretty! My tip is to wash their hair with delicate clothes wash and then condition it with clothes softener, if you notice the hair is still brittle, after rinsing, apply it again an leave it for an hour or so, it will work wonders! I have tried it in a doll from the 1960s and it was a miracle... and the quality of the hair was just as dolls today.

It's ok girl, I used to be in love with the Bratz ponies. I would take my pony to school every day of fourth grade. One day my homeroom teacher took my doll. So I improved my grades and got close to her as a master plan to become her student teacher assistant. Once I was alone in the room as her student TA, I used her keys to open the drawer where confiscated toys went. I stole my and my friend's ponies and never spoke of it again.... And never brought the pony to school again. 😂 Now retelling this i forgot how savage fourth graders can be

This video warms my heart. I’m a 2001 baby and I grew up loving Bratz (weirdly enough I didn’t have that many Bratz dolls growing up but I did have some great ones) and I loved the movies and tv show. I used to watch them on KZbin in parts back when copyright rules were almost non existent. I also really loved Monster High when it first started (that collection was much bigger for me) but like you said, I got to a point where all the girls my age were starting to like more teen things but my love for dolls was not going away. But I got picked on really badly which kind of discouraged me and I forced myself to not care about dolls anymore and got rid of all of them. Now I’m 19 and I’m getting back into dolls by customizing them and repainting them and I miss my early dolls so much. It is so hard to build up a collection when Monster High has been discontinued and Bratz has only come out with collector dolls recently. I regret getting rid of my dolls so much but I’m so happy to be finding my love for them again. I can’t wait to see the next videos in this series!

Plastic bins are terrible for holding toys, especially in damp areas. I know from plastic bins alone if you leave them in there too long your dolls/ toys can get super sticky from the plastic leaking onto them. (Or at least, it happens with vintage MLP and with Barbies, I’m not entirely sure with Bratz but I feel like it can.) Along with that, being in a damp places gives them mold like what you got on yours :( the best thing to do is isolate the infected dolls so it doesn’t spread to others. I’m not sure if you can fix them, but if any are sticky I know how to fix that. Plastic bins also suck because if it gets too hot the dolls can warp. But I’m really sorry that happened to you :(. If you need any more help with resorting like hair, bodies, whatever I can try to help you. I may mostly have Pony based knowledge but I also have some doll knowledge too.

I know this is an old video, but I just started watching this series and I wanted to share my feelings. I had so many dolls as a kid. I was mostly a barbie girl, but I had many bratz as well. I loved my dolls so much. I won't get into all the details, but my childhood was not a very happy one. Over time, many of my dolls were sold by my mother to fuel her substance addiction. My grandma raised me from 10 years old on, moving me from my parent's home into hers, and I brought the few dolls I had with me. As my life improved, I started reflecting and developing really sour feelings towards the memories connected to my dolls, which eventually drove me to give the remainder of them away. I still love dolls, and since then I've gained a collection of new dolls. But I'll be honest, when I started this video and you began to talk about your history with your dolls, I started to cry. I wish I still had my old collection. I wish I never gave away the few dolls I had left. At the same time, seeing the love you have for your dolls brings me such warmth in my heart. They are such a beautiful and important creative tool for young kids, and those memories are not easily forgotten. So cherish them ☺️

Aha I did this with my Winx dolls recently! A lot of them were used on Ebay so they came with ratty hair, and I found that soaking the doll's hair (being careful not to get the plastic as it can melt) in really hot, almost boiling water really helped get the shine back and the tangles out. I conditioned and then soaked and let it dry naturally in a warm dry place so as not to get mold.

This hit me on a personal level, Being called “childish” by most of the people I knew was something I too went through. But because I embraced what I loved, I was able to meet my closest friend. We’ve been friends for the past 10 years! and it all started because of one shared passion, Littlest Pet Shop 💖 Thank you for sharing this video, I can’t wait to watch the rest of this series💕

Bratz Rock Angels was SOOOOOOOO SOO GOOD. I played it all the time when I was younger like I was beyond obsessed with it

This is why any child should be able to enjoy the things they love when they're young even when adults. I think it takes a certain level of maturity to look back at the things we love, then still accept that we cherish them and they inspired parts of our lives or even sparked our imagination. Never let ANYONE take away the things you loved as a child because they're 'childish' or weird to others. Surround yourself with things that make you happy not what makes others comfortable.

I never collected Bratz but your collection is amazing and it is great to watch you handle them. I am also relieved to hear that I am not the only one finding mildew or mold in otherwise well stored dolls. It's a little bummer. Keep up the good work!

i had the exact same obsession with littlest pet shops. just like you whenever i played with them it would be a movie or an episode. my mom gave away all of the thousands of accessories i had and connected so much with them. i only have the figures now but they don’t hold all the memories. i even decided i want to work in film because of my youtube videos i did with them when i was smaller. it was really hard not to cry while watching this :(

I came back to watch this video! I’m going into my teen hood and I still love collecting and playing with dolls, I even have a KZbin channel with my sister, but I’m so afraid to admit I still like toys. This video is so relatable :)

I am in LOVE with you and your videos, it doesn’t really bring back any feelings for me rather it intensifies my passion for these dolls, because my love also had never faded. I related so much to your story in the beginning and even shed a tear of happiness knowing there’s another normal girl out there collecting Bratz 😂♥️

Omg the brats fish tank game on the computer was my shit. And I totally relate to having an interest in dolls when I was "too old for them" but I didn't think to collet them. What a shame I got rid of them all. But I'm living vicariously through you I guess and can't wait to see the rest of the series! 🤗
