Do you know any of those kind of people today who think they are true Christians , I believe the churches have these kind of Christians by name only kind of people. They do not have the Holy Spirit living within them and neither did many other Jewish people of the time. I would not be the Christian I am today without the HS. You may have knowledge of scripture but not sure if I like your presentation of the gospel.

Jews were taught that they were already G-d's chosen few, so they didn't believe they needed a Messiah. It was the anti-Semitic Christians that made up the story that a son of the God came to earth to save only those that followed the teachings of the son, which in turn were offensive to Judaism. It was simply a ploy to start the new religion of Christianity.
