#UtahJazz point guard Isaiah Collier is still one of the best point guards in the 2024 #NBADraft despite an up-and-down season of #collegebasketball. How will he fare after the Trojans?

I think Collier is a capable point guard who can make an immediate impact in the NBA. He attacks the rim very well, very good first step and doesn't seem to have serious shooting or defensive problems, although he's not a shooter or defender right now. That's probably enough for him to be a top 10 pick in this draft. But I'm not convinced, his assist-to-turnover ratio is worrisome and his physical strength will be lower in the NBA. I saw him play in person a couple of months ago and I didn't think he was anything special, but he could be useful for a team looking for a point guard for the future.

I expect his turnovers to go down over time, but even now, he improved as the season went on. Down the line, I think Collier will be alright as a shooter. More of a volume shooter than an efficient one. However, since he isn't there yet, it's important for him to be surrounded with as much space and shooting as possible. USC didn't do this at all this year, so that's also why I believe Collier will end up looking like a much better playmaker in the NBA.

Collier is my favorite guard in this class. I love how he gets downhill. I like how he got cut down his turnovers. I lwould love it if he fell to Toronto.

He's been one of my favorites since the cycle started really. The turnovers were an issue at first, but I'm more than willing to be lenient with that given that he was a freshman point guard with a 30% usage rate and a situation that wasn't ideal.

@@FloorandCeiling Yes I agree USC was not the best environment Collier. In a smaller role with less usage, Collier will continue to reduce the turnovers and be more effective.

Love your work. Can you do Jaylon Tyson? I want to learn more about his game but I haven’t seen a scouting report on him anywhere

I doubt he falls to 19 but Id love for the Raptors to take him there if he is still on the board.

I would never let Collier fall to #19, but let's remember that Tyrese Maxey fell to #21. If the Raptors got him, that would be an amazing outcome.

28% off of 3s off the dribble and 37% stationary. Is there an example of another player coming in the league like that who had success with their 3 point shot?
@FloorandCeiling
@FloorandCeiling Ай бұрын
Tyrese Maxey shot about 32% on catch-and-shoot threes, then 27% on threes off the dribble. Not the same type of player, but I think it can be a comparable example (though I trusted Maxey's shot more).

I Would Love To See Miami Heat Trade For Another First Round Pick & Draft Isaiah Collier & Zach Edey In The 1st Round, Isaiah Collier Is Definitely A Great Fit Next To Terry Rozier & Delon Wright & Although Zach Edey Is 7’4 He Is Still Great Backup Center & A Great Fit Next To Bam 💯

If he does not improve his 3 point shooting he will be a bench player and traded material moving from team to team and out of the league in 5 years...But if he can improve his 3's, 39% shooting he will be strong starter for somebody...He reminds me of Dennis Smith Jr, how many time has he been traded...:)

Thanks for watching! Dennis Smith Jr. (in college at NC State) is a good point of comparison for why NBA teams might have concerns about Collier. Still, I think he's a much better decision maker than Smith was at the same stage of his development and I also trust Collier's shooting more.

This would be an interesting fit in terms of development, but it'd also be pretty different from how the Heat have been drafting.

I can’t get over the shooting, high usage, and high turnovers. I know it was good over the last 10 games, but just can’t get excited about him.
@FloorandCeiling

Thanks for watching. I get where you're at and I think many others share your concerns. That's why Collier is being mocked to go in the 14-20 range, which imo would be a big miss. However, to this, I could say that he shot 37% on catch-and-shoot threes, that the turnovers were cut down as the year advanced, and that his usage is almost certainly bound to go down in the NBA (only 19 players in the NBA had a usage rate higher than Collier's as a USC freshman and all of them are all-stars except for Victor Wembanyama, Cam Thomas, and Kyle Kuzma).
