Thank you Dr. Tour. I've been so impressed with your preaching and more importantly (for this comment) your direct academic confrontation with "origins of life" chemists, that I encouraged my son and he just applied to Rice. He's headed more the EE/CS direction, but he'll still need to take some chemistry! If admitted I'll encourage him to look you up and connect. Thank you - you are a strong encouragement and may the Lord continue to bless your steadfastness.

Amen to that! Re remnant left... path to heaven is very narrow. It reminds me of someone who just gave his life to Jesus. He said he lives by 3 Christian principles: don't judge; don't condemn and forgive... I really liked your discussion on 'origins of life' at your recent Harvard event. I thought it you made a cogent point 'I feel sorry for my wife for putting up with me but we have been together for 42 years and have 4 beautiful children....'

Psalm 32 3-7 "When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. Selah = “raise voices in praise” - "a pause in the song" The Psalms are the 150 songs, poems, and prayers that together form the Book of Psalms in the Bible.

If I remember correctly, there were five cities of the plain, Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim and Zoar. If the cities are under the Dead Sea, they are digging thousands of sulfur balls out of the structures (if you can call them that because they are nothing but ash in the shapes of structures) around the Dead Sea that look like they were once buildings and pyramids, etc. I am really happy about you teaching Isaiah because he is my favorite of the prophets. I also love Jonah and Daniel.

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, ~1. Corinthians 15:1-4 God bless you!

@@dkeny55 Yeah, here, Jesus is establishing His authority over creation and His authority over the Sabbath (as well as demonstrating His compassion for the sick). The body can be healed and yet our spirit can still be sick. Though, we see in other passages where through our faith in Him our spirit is reconciliated to God. The man that got healed didn't even know who was healing him, lol. It was later that the Jews told the man that it was Jesus that healed him. After that, the Jews went after Jesus for healing on the Sabbath...some thanks, eh!

James said that whenever he yells at Dave, he’s not angry, but passionate. If that’s so, why doesn’t he display this much passion toward graphene or molecular machines, his ACTUAL area of research? Also, is Jim willing to act like this towards ANYONE who says that life arose through abiogenesis, whether it’s a colleague, his student, or even his kids?

Whatever version of the Bible you are reading, it is not nearly as beautiful and poetic sounding as the King James. I suppose I have been spoiled. I'm older and studied Shakespeare in school so I understand the KJV. All other versions sound so crass, but I listen for the knowledge and wisdom you impart, not for the Biblical text. Thank you for the depth you impart!

A small about will be saved? You said it breaks your heart. Dies it break God's heart. Only a small percentage of everyone that ever lived are saved? The fast majority go to hell? In Revelation when. It is talking about the people in heaven. From every tribe. There are so many they can't be counted. Does God have to condemn to hell to show his greatness. This does not sound like the compassionate God I read about in the Bible. He just chose a few so the others are condemned even though they were chose by God to go to hell. Read the whole Bible. I know God is the judge but he is also forgiving and compassionate.

Got to ten seconds, stopped to post this message. Truth and love have opposites, with faith, we can reduce them to more acceptable minuscule terms. Somehow nobody notices they’re equally destructive, deceptions, half truths, and opinions (rather than researched facts) do the same thing as lies for those who feel required to use them. Hate is no worse than a belief that certain others are worthy of spending an eternity in a place that offers no justice or justification, just vengeance.

Vengeance is mine says the LORD - Romans 12:19 "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." Deut. 32:35 Vengeance is mine, and recompense. The manner and timing of the repayment of man’s wickedness is God’s prerogative. This principle is reaffirmed in the NT in Rom. 12:19 and Heb. 10:30.

@@Alec_Cox I guess you don't accept "the gospel according to Elmercoblentz" as part of the cannon of scripture. 🙂 (I think CS Lewis may be right that what some mean by "God is Love" is "Love is God" which is not the same statement. )

Dr. Tour knows that Professor Dave isn’t an actual professor. He’s not an expert or an OoL researcher. So why does he care so much about what he has to say, he makes countless hours of content talking about how he doesn’t know chemistry and is willing to debate him at Rice?

In his first video dealing with Dave videos he covered this over a year ago that he knew Dave was only a you-tuber but used Dave videos to shows how much the general public is misinformed how far OoL research have got. He made the same argument with the talk with Lee recently as the general public believes scientist have already created life in a lab.

@@smidlee7747Why would Jim care how the public thinks about OoL research? Ignoring the fact that he’s not an OoL researcher, shouldn’t he as a scientist care about what the scientific community thinks about OoL? Dave has to care about what the public thinks about science because he’s not a scientist but a science educator.
