I’m Shikhar Rungta. After spending close to 4+ years working as a software engineer, I decided to pursue an MBA. So, I gave GMAT and TOEFL, scoring 730 and 114 respectively.
I’m accepted to ISB and other US B-Schools with good Scholarship, and I’ll be joining Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business in August 2020. Hi Shikhar. Thank you sharing your ISB Application. One of the first people, I came across, who is so transparent. Yes, I was not aware that ISB did not required a resume. (Can we still attach our resume with application? OR ISB strictly says no to Resumes?) Under Section 'F' of Extracurricular activities- we need to mention the extra-activities done during 'work only' OR can we write 'high-school and college activities along with work? I appreciate your genuineness. Do not loose this authentic touch in the long run. Warm Regards!

Thank you Mitesh for your kind words. Comments such as these motivate me to share my experiences :) You do not have a placeholder to share your resume in pdf or word format in ISB application. The section in which you have to mention the details about the work experience is where you need to write points as you would do in your resume. Extra- curricular activities can be from your school, college, and/or work. You will have to weigh which activities are impactful and a worthy addition to your application. Having said that, I think the activities in which you are continuously engaged or have had a significant impact are the ones that leave a lasting impression. Cheers!

What should one do if their Institution name is not listed in the drop-down list?

If your institution or college is not mentioned then try for university. If that is also not available then there must a ’Others’ option.

Hi Shikhar, ISB is my dream B-School. Can you tell me if i can make it if my 10th scores are 90% ,12th scores are 66% and graduation scores are 60%. Employed with Amazon since last 26 months(non dev non support). A bunch of extra curricular activities at collegiate level, one achievement at National level in 12th class. Scored 700 at gmat this year... didn't try again. But can surely improve and get it past 715.

Hi Prashant, Great! If ISB is your dream school then just go for it. We can not go back in time and change 10th and 12th marks, so why worry about it. Your work ex is good and 700 is a decent score. But if you writing GMAT again then improving your score will surely help. Nobody has the answer whether you will get through or not. You have to apply to know. Hi Shreyash, It is Shikhar :) If you have enough pointers to fill at least 8-9 points (job responsibilities and initiatives) for each of the position then mention them as separate employments. Else, mention promotion as an achievement.
