Meditative .... Thoughtful. He was leaning and mourning over the end of the century. Hence, meditative. Leaves are shed ( generally )in autumn in English countryside . Winter is associated with snowfall and barren tree tops .Hence, here the most apt choice is fallen snow . You will answer depending on the options you get . Analyse , eliminate the wrong options and choose the most appropriate one if the question is tricky.

Ma'am, in "Q-7", the should have been weak and wrinkled because the word darkling used here does not have a literal meaning. Isn't it?

Darkling' means 'of the darkness'. When the word 'darkling' is used as an adjective for the thrush, it's a complete antithesis . In the poem the darkness or the dying of light is representative of the death of a century, and the despair it brings. The word “darkling” means growing darkness, while “thrush” is a bird that is grey or brown in color, with a spotted body. The title can be a reference to the thrush arising out of the dark, and spreading hope around, through its song. The poem starts with the “weakening” of the Sun, which is about to set.
