Answer C is also correct. A hub cannot be segmented into different VLANs creating separate broadcast domains whereas a switch can.

I had to double take also. The key words are control traffic on networks. A switch connects all the devices on a network(your network, my network..etc..) and controls(directs) traffic to the appropriate device on that network. A router connects multiple switches and multiple networks (creating a bigger network) together and routes traffic over those networks.. i.e (connecting all the starbucks locations 😂)

Switches are responsible for directing network traffic to its intended destination, based on the MAC addresses of the devices connected to the network. Unlike hubs, which simply broadcast data to all connected devices, switches make more efficient use of network bandwidth by selectively forwarding data only to the devices that need to receive it. Routers, on the other hand, are responsible for directing traffic between different networks.

Q38. The answer depends on the traffic. If it is a Ping Flood (ICMP) then it is L3 Network Layer. If it is a SYN Flood, then it is L4 Transport Layer. If it is routable but garbage packets, then it is L3.

Switches also control traffic flow on networks by sending traffic based on their physical address (MAC) whereas routers control traffic flow based on their logical address (IP).

Q36. DNS is a server that usually runs on a router but that doesn't mean that it is L3 or L4. It is an application and therefore L7.

I saw that too Layer 1 -- Network Layer 2 -- Internet Layer 3 -- Transport -- (Firewall) Layer 4 -- Application He gave his answer based on the OSI model where Transport fall into layer 4

Question 8 il really weird. The choice D make no sense and it's even the right one. "A switch retransmits traffic to all devices, while a switch routes traffic to a specific device." It's wrong.

The 1st occurrence of "switch" should be replaced with hub. So the correct statement is "A hub retransmits traffic to all devices, while a switch routes traffic to a specific device."

Q5 answer is D and the description defines it as D. Answer B is incorrect because wired connection of network devices can use standards other than Ethernet. One example is FibreChannel, which is also over copper wire. Another is routing protocols like RIP, ATM and OSPF. They use the same UTP or STP wires but the formatting of the traffic is different. Ethernet is a protocol at Layer 2--not wire (physical) Layer 1.
