This is one of the most well-made videos I've seen on KZbin. The song works spectacularly for Iscariot, and I love how you even managed to hint at (SPOILER) the schism between Anderson's forces of Iscariot and Maxwell's crusade. (END SPOILER). It also works fantastically when one realizes that Alucard's old identity as Dracula would literally mean Son of the Dragon, so the lines about slaying the dragon take on a whole new meaning. :D

This song works really well with vampire clan salubri from vampire the masquerade. They were the closet thing vampires had to saints because they never hurt innocents and where Buddhist and catholic healers. But they where almost destroyed by the tremere clan who sought power through diablery (vampire cannibalism) and now the few who are left wish to raise and army and cleanse the world of all evil.

Funny thing... the lyric "We kill the Dragon" at 0:46 is actually close to the actually Hellsing pattern with the Vatican troops since Dracula (Which is the real name of Alucard. His reverse name is a symbol of change in his behavior, from the bloody unstoppable humanity killer to the guard dog or an human with bounds. But "Dracula" actually means "Son of the Dragon" as "Dracul", the name of his father, meant "Dragon".

I know this argument is a month old but during Vlad's time Dracul meant Dragon stemming from the Latin word Draco. Vlad's Father was a prominent member of an order called 'The Order Of The Dragon' and called himself Dracul to show how dedicated he was to the order. His son Vlad III took up the name Draculea meaning "Son of the Dragon." It was only later the meaning was changed to Devil because the book of revelations was written and the Devil took the form of a Dragon. Bram Stoker liked the name and changed his character's name from Count Wampir of Germany to Count Dracula of Transylvania. That is the etymology of the name. I hate it when people get it wrong and parade around like they actually know the history.

(Going further back the word Dracul comes from Draco, which literally means Dragon.) In order to protect/regain his people Vlad Tepes III. waged war on the Ottoman Empire and used the impaled corpses as a means of repulsion to any that may want to invade his realm. This cruelty earned him the nickname The Impaler and was the starting point from which the name Dracula became connected with the upcoming folklore that depicted him as a blood drinking demon. The very image that became the inspiration for Bram Stroker's Dracula. A book that I have yet to read despite calling myself a collector of Vampire Myths of sorts. Take everything with a grain of salt though as I may remember some things differently than they actually are. But I have read before that some in today's Romania still revere him as a hero and just ruler that protected his subjects. The Hellsing Manga and Ultimate did a good enough job in connecting the mythological Dracula and the Vampires (the inability to cross large bodies of water on their own) with the historical person Vlad Tepes III. They are the reason I have taken up an interest in collecting Vampire Myths in the first place. If anyone knows a good one (be it Manga or Book) please leave a reply.

To be honest, given what they're marching into, I think the polearm-rifles make sense. Polearms were designed for keeping enemies at a distance. When facing down an army of 1000 vampires and perhaps millions of ghouls, keeping the enemy at a distance is a really good idea. It would make getting into the chopper odd, though.

Also, Dragon is one of the (many) means of referring to Satan in old-school Catholocism. "Beast" is the most well used animalistic euphemism these days, but there used to be a lot. (Reasoning is essentially that a dragon is the apex of reptiles (and thus snakes), and Satan's most pivotal role in the Bible is playing the talking serpent in Eden.

Interesitng thing about this anime is that good is precived as evil and crazy (the Iscariote), just becuase evil is precived as good and attractive throught sympathy for main characters (Hellsing). actually neither the vatican or hellsing are good or evil they sit in a gray area the thought of morality itself is meant to be very tumultuous in the anime yes dracula can be perceived as evil in a lot of ways but he has a reason and that is to protect the world from having another monster of equal proportions appear unchecked and the vatican do the right thing very subjectively they follow a very old, prejudiced, and literal translation of the bible on most occasions and a lot of the literal translations of the bible are highly unethical and against modern moral standards so its near impossible to define some of the characters in the show as good or bad you can declare a lot of them as such but alucard, anderson, seras, integra, walter, the major they all depend on how you personally view the world

The hole anime it's hard to distinguish who is a good guy and who is the bigger villain. As I see it Samson and his team was good just happen to be allied with a psychopath, saris Victoria was good even after she became full vampire because she still had morals ,and sir Integra was good.
