In this video we're visiting Iseltwald, one of the most beautiful villages of Switzerland. Iseltwald is the only village on the left bank of Lake Brienz and is rightly called the pearl of Lake Brienz. With around 420 inhabitants, the pretty fishing village is one of the small communities in the canton of Bern. A variety that is second to none extends over 23 km2: from the idyllic fishing bay to the highest mountain peaks with breathtaking views, you will find everything. The quality of life is high, also thanks to the good infrastructure.
One of the main attractions of the village is the iconic Iseltwald castle (Schloss Seeburg). It was built in 1907 and it's the most impressive building in the village. Since September 1987, the Seeburg Castle has been a congress, conference, educational and spa center.
The video was filmed in June 2022

Very very beautiful! Can you please suggest which one is most beautiful Iseltwald or Oberried am brienzersee! We wish to visit anyone as we are coming from berlin. Thanks a lot!

They are both very beautiful villages. Personally, I find Iseltwald more romantic, while Oberried am Brienzersee is more quiet and less touristy.

Hi, great footage and music choice. Too bad about all the tourists who visit for that Netflix K drama. When's the least crowded time to visit. I really want to avoid those K drama fans. Thanks

Thank you so much! I would say that the place is less crowded in late September and October and the weather is still nice then.

@@VirtualSwitzerland thanks for your reply. Late September/October is exactly when I'd like to visit. Would it be better if I visited early morning or is that a moot point during that Autumn season anyway? I really would like to avoid even one single K drama fan. I'm actually Asian-American, but want to avoid these fans as I know what they're like. A youtube influencer (a Swiss/American couple) even suggests avoiding setting foot on Iseltwalt altogether and simply ferrying past it, but that sounds extreme. Cheers

Hello again! Late September/October is a great time to visit! There are very few tourists in Iseltwald and the landscape is truly stunning, filled with gorgeous autumn colours. It would be a pity to miss it!

This channel is amazing! We're planning to visit Switzerland next April for 12 days and have shortlisted 5 villages (2 days each) to stay. Day 1-2: Schwellbrunn. Detour to Stein on second day. Day 3-5: Iseltwald. Activities in Interlaken and Jungfrau region on second and third day. Day 6-7: Romainmotier after Gruyeres. Visiting Montreux/Lavaux/St-Saphorin on second day. Day 8-10: Grimentz. Trip to Zermatt and doing Via Ferrata on third day. Day 11-12: Foroglio/Val Bavona. Visiting Morcote on third day. What do you think? Should we remove something or add some scenic places?

Hello! Thank you so much for your kind words! I really like your plan and you have chosen some gorgeous places to stay. Since I don't know your tastes or preferences, the only solid piece of advice that I can give you is that in April the weather is quite unpredictable (sudden thunderstorms and/or snowfalls) so you should always check the weather forecast before doing any mountain activities. I don't know which Via Ferrata are you planning to do (the Schweifinen in Zermatt or the one in Grimentz) but some routes open in June. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge. Have a wonderful and enjoyable trip!

@@VirtualSwitzerland Hey, thanks for replying! I have chosen the Via Ferrta Moiry Dam Grimentz because it has zipline. It shows it'll be open in April. Are there any other better ones (more scenic) along my route? We basically want to experience a little bit of most things that Switzerland has to offer. Different landscapes, architecture, cheese/chocolate/wine, maybe festivals (not much in April), etc. Which less touristy month would you recommend? Is late April - Early May fine? I hope there's greenry in April. 11-15 April has a music festival in Zermatt that's why we planned it around this time. Also, since we included almost every type of landscape in our visit (green valleys, small and large lakes, waterfalls, sunsets, snow, etc.), is there any part of Switzerland left that offers something different? Would St. Moritz/Lake Sils region offer anything different? Also, should we stay in Guyeres or Romainmotier? Too many questions but I'm trying my best to make a good plan! Also, thanks a lot!

Hi @White Walker! -I can't recommend a specific Via Ferrata (I'm not particularly fond of heights and I've never tried to do one😃). -The best non touristy months to visit Switzerland is from late April till June, September and October. In late April - early May the scenery is very beautiful and the pastures are all green. -If you plan to attend Zermatt Unplugged I think that it would be better for you to stay in Zermatt and not in Grimentz. A cheaper alternative would be a nearby town called Täsch. - I think that you have made a very good itinerary already and you shouldn't cram more destinations in it. - I personally prefer Gruyères to Romainmôtier (however this is my personal preference and you should follow your own preference). If you want to ask anything else, just leave a comment below! Best wishes from Zürich!

@@VirtualSwitzerland Thanks a lot for the kind help! I had one query. How easy is it to reach these villages and waterfalls in Switzerland? We can hike upto 20 minutes but would we need to hire a car? Would just the Swiss rail pass suffice? E.g., If we need to see Foroglio waterfall or Siebenbrunnen waterfall, would we need a car to reach there or even the Foroglio village for that matter?
@VirtualSwitzerland
@VirtualSwitzerland 2 жыл бұрын
@White Walker You can reach every Swiss village with the yellow PostBuses. The thing is, some of these buses run only a few times a day, so you should check the schedule carefully. Hiring a car can save you a lot of time. I don't know about the Siebenbrunnen waterfall but the Foroglio waterfall is very close to the village's parking and the bus stop (if i remember correctly it takes about 10 mins to reach the base of the waterfall).
