I really think it depends on your personal interpretation of Mimi that determines which actress you like better. I feel like Renee's performance is more humorous, childlike (she is only 19 after all) and temperamental. Rosario is more sexy and sly, nimble and dangerous. I prefer Renee's performance because it highlights the fact she's very young, and she has more of a cocky attitude. But I can see how some prefer Rosario and how she perfectly depicts Mimis sex appeal, the way she may seem more mature for her age, more confident and bold.

i find renee's portrayal of mimi quite endearing. whilst watching the 2008 recorded version of the musical, i found her mimi spunky and childish and youthful, yet at the same time, during mark and roger's confrontation in "goodbye love," i saw really how childlike ("vulnerable") her character really was (see her facial expressions while eavesdropping on mark and roger's conversation). definitely one of my favourite mimis.
