I actually joined KZbin just so I could comment on this dance. I can't tell you how many times I've put on this video thinking I'd just listen to the wonderful music and found myself watching the whole thing again. I see so many different elements in your performance - bellydance, Indian dances, martial arts, and a real celebration of the sacred feminine - and they all combine to make this the most mesmerizing and beautiful dance I've ever seen. Your joy in dancing is inspirational! Thank you!

Thank you much! Those are precisely the elements I was going for in this piece. I call the style Tejedora--it means "weaver" in Spanish. So glad you enjoyed!

Thank you all so much! The music is "Baltar Panics" & "The Thousandth Landing" from Battlestar Gallactica, and Solace's Bharaat. This particular dance is a modern fusion of a great many traditions, yes, including martial arts. So glad y'all enjoy!

Thank ye thank ye all! Alas, I received the sword from a friend so I don't know where he got it. It is a heavier one though, and make sure your guard faces on the outside curve if you want to be able to swing it. ~Iz

I'm a beginner at making my own solos, and now I find I'm not original. *cries* I still think she's an awesome dancer, and apparantly smarter than me. :'(

@farashahanem ---The same way opposite sides of the world came up with identical storylines simultaneously, thousands of years before the internet. Two separate dancers can come up with the same idea because the human body only moves a certain number of ways, and there is a limited amount of things you can do with any prop. If everyone tried to only do moves no one had ever done before, we wouldn't get far. Do your dance anyway.
