A beginer dev: Just read documentation. An intermediate dev: You need to optimise your AI pipeline, ai coding will overtake human coding in future! A senior dev: Just read documentation. PS also, it's don't be afraid, we won't be getting replaced any time soon, because you'd always need a programmer to understand what AI actually makes.

I don’t think relying on AI is a good idea. Call me salty but it sucks to have put so much time and effort into learning lua over the past 5 years only to see “skibidi toilet survival” pop up on the charts after a total of 1 day and 0 amount of work. People wont learn and their code will be extremely weak and easy to exploit. I agree it’s a great tool, I use it for complex math in my games, but people really need to start learning the language as well.

I used to code everything myself but once I got my hands on a good AI there was no reason to go back, and it's not effortless to make games with AI it's just a lot faster. I think more importantly people are trying to use AI for code without actually knowing how to code, that's just not going to work. Everyone will still need to know how to code if they want to use AI efficiently.

I'm currently learning Lua for roblox, and I can do basic scripting. I often use tools like chat GPT to give me pointers or help debug whenever needed. It feels wrong if i just asked it to code for me, and makes the finishing product feel lifeless and I don't like it.

I would rather play a buggy, unappealing game made by a beginner developer who didn’t use ai, rather than a sloppy, fake mess made by someone who couldn’t bother putting in the energy to make something true and authentic. Use ai as a tool, nobody can stop you. But that doesn’t ever mean anyone is obligated to be okay with that, or to be silent at their discomfort of someone who refuses to put in the energy. I’m an artist, in college to go into the games industry. Ai is going to destroy the authenticity of game development. People don’t even know the difference between using ai as a “tool” and as a crutch. I will never, ever willingly touch or play anything not made by a person. I want to experience someone’s actual effort, their hours spent learning, trying, failing, than the Frankenstein made by a computer mixed with a person.

I understand why a Dev might feel inclined to use AI, specially beginner devs; Roblox game development can be expensive if you want to pay developers to do things that you can't, and its much easier to tell an Artificial Intelligence to create things for you, but I genuinely believe that you don't even have to spend money to make a good and somewhat successful game. I started making roblox games back in 2017 (2019 if you don't really count week-long projects that never got finished) and, since I've always been somewhat scared of hiring devs for multiple reasons, I always worked on my projects alone. Nowdays I have a friend that does Modelling for my game but I do all the programming, animating, sound design, UI, and other stuff. Also, if you're a new developer, don't be afraid of using free models, even I have to sometimes use them, but always make sure to search for viruses within the model's children and scripts.

Honestly i agree with your statement about ai should be used as a tool, because it is, a tool. Ai can save hours of coding and allow small developers to make games faster, however, ai at its current form, isn't very suitable to make an entire thing all by itself, some human intervention needs to be done to make whatever it produces, good. And the other points you made are also valid in my opinion (i'll probably add on to this comment when i want to because this is a fairly big and controversial topic)

First of all great Video! and now my opinion and how i see things. I don’t think people fully understand how developers use AI. I saw someone in the comments saying they don’t think relying on AI is a good idea, and I completely agree. Even with AI’s help, you still need strong skills in scripting, game design, and, if necessary, monetization. AI doesn’t replace creativity or expertise it’s just a tool to speed up progress and assist in finding solutions. AI is used almost everywhere nowadays, and some big companies even encourage its use. For example, if you’ve heard of QA Automation, it’s one of the ways big companies leverage AI. In short, it’s an automated tool (or set of tools) that uses AI to speed up processes like finding bugs, glitches, and performance issues. From what I’ve seen, many people in the Roblox community also use AI for scripting, which can save a lot of time when writing or debugging code. There are, of course, other uses, like NPC behavior, World Generation(Minecraft for example uses that) etc, but that’s not the focus here. As mentioned in the video, AI is just a tool to make things faster, but the developer or 'you' still need a deep understanding of how everything works to make a great game. This obviously is just my opinion and everyone can have their own, i just wanted to clear some things up since these "i made a game with ai" are most of the time misleading and only use it for coding while there is much more on it

AI cant replace any programming, AI usually lacks creativity. Even if the programmer isn't that good, AI cant replace what the programmer wants to make specifically, they can easily screw one thing up and ruin the entire project. Even if the code is made perfectly they cant match what the programmer had in mind (or get is as perfect) AI is used by experienced programmers to debug code, explain stuff and answer questions. not to replace the programmer. If that was the case then ai generated games would be easy to hack/exploit in, abuse bugs and more since AI focuses on the task, not perfecting it.

First, I don't think AI will replace scripters anytime soon because, for the most part, they just take in information from online and spit out a result that somewhaf matches what you wanted. However, as a scripter, I do, on occasion, use AI to fix small pieces of my code that I can't find the bugs in. So, I think that AIs main purpose will be in the following years, just helping developers fix the bugs in their code instead of making entire scripts from scratch. Edit: After watching, I fully agree that AI should just be used for assisting in coding. Also, I think if ChatGPT and things like it want to improve, they should update their information to stop using deprecated features.

honestly worst part about ai generated games is that they chould be used for evil and have ai pump out games almost daily like ai should be used as a tool but knowing how bad things are going i feel like ai isnt really being used nor is going to be used like a tool but instead be used like a slave and making them do everything for you so in summary best method of making games in a simple way while still keeping some personality you need to balance the usage of manual work and ai only then you will be rightfully respected by the community

I just started today with trying to make a tower defense game prototype so that I can understand scripting in Lua better, and yet I find myself asking the AI assistant simple questions such as: 'How do I get the inputs of a player?' and 'I keep getting errors when trying to edit camPos.X or camPos.Z'. Although the AI DOES give me quick, convenient answers so that I can try to write my own code using what the AI tells me, I'm split as to if this would be overusing AI to the point of it 'becoming a crutch', as another user (Vexmus) has put it. I don't want to just 'make a game with AI' (since that feels kinda cash-grabby and unauthentic), but I can't tell if asking for help a lot from AI would fall under the same category. (also, silly o'l me didn't even watch the last 2 minutes of the video. I'll keep pushing, and just kinda see where it goes.)

Although ai gets better day by day doesn’t mean you should rely on it. Your game is pretty sloppy if ai made most of it ( considering u might publish it). Ai isn’t something you should use for coding whole games, if you want to make a game then learn how to make one by yourself, not copy most of it from ai. AI can't innovate. AI can't be creative. AI is a mere tool. Although I think some companies and people use it in the wrong way; you do not have to worry about AI taking over the world. Take it like this: If there is no human to create new, fresh, and creative art, AI will keep generating the same things over and over.
