This is the combat I grew up with before FH. Directional attacking and blocking without the lockon BS. Jedi Knight Academy, Chivalry 1 and 2, Mordhau, GunZ. And it's so much better, but unfortunately no AAA company that has the budget to keep feeding it with new stuff to keep it fresh and extend progression wants to make one.
