Mashallah, great video, it's a topic a lot of reverts or people not well versed with Islam struggle with, because they gain this idea that you need to practice Arab culture in order to be a Muslim or a good Muslim, but that can't be further from the truth, enjoy your own culture, live the way you are comfortable in, as long as you live by Allah (SWT)'s boundaries and be steadfast in faith and prayer, may Allah bless all of you and guide us all :)

This is nice! There's something to be said about the fact that Islam, and *all other* religious traditions for that matter, (especially the revealed, textural traditions) all *formed within* very specific cultural frameworks. Who gets to decide what Islam means (and doesn't mean) in the first place? The answer to that question affects the shape of the funnel, which in turn affects the cultural elements that get culled and sifted with it. This is why having multiple perspectives at the table (cultural, sectarian, and political) is important. We can learn from everybody!

Whoever says سُبْحَانَاللّهِوَبِحَمْدِهِ SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi (Glory be to Allah and Praise Him) a hundred times during the day, his sins are wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea [Sahih al-Bukhari; #7:168, Sahih Muslim; #4:2071] Abu Dharr reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, "Shall I tell you the words that Allah loves the most?" You have to know that some elements of culture or social expectations are against islamic guidance and these are the ones we should strive to rectify (like of extravagent weddings, the mahr being reversed instead of the man it's the woman who pays it and that creates so much problem). And there are other parts that are aligned and are in result of the islamic guidance (like of wearing white and modest clothes because it has been recommanded by the prophet sws, or limiting unecessary mixing between the genders) and these things we need to keep them. I have noticed a weird trend of valuing things that go against islam and disregarding things that are aligned with islamic guidance.

The prophet Muhammad (saw)' s culture, tradition is the one a Muslim should adopt, embrace etc...His tradition, culture(saw) is superior to any other culture for the Muslims... Food, clothing are irrelevant in Islam just where what you love preferably the color white Nabi ( saw) recommended as long as it's not revealing,not modest. As for the food long as it's halal, allowed in Islam. Consequently, you have to embrace, adopt the culture, tradition of Nabi(saw). Lol
